I was a vehicle commander in Afghanistan for a security company at a younger age...

Who the **** does he think he is and why does he think playing basketball is somehow more complicated than anything anybody else will ever deal with?
FOH clown. Don't run your mouth to players if you don't want them to come back at you. Where do you goofs come from where you talk **** about someone then expect them to ne quiet and take it. Again, typical raftards.

Not to me. They weren't there on the ground trying to avoid IEDs and getting ambushed by experienced Taliban fighters. They don't know why we signed up. They don't know **** so I couldn't care less. I've had the term baby killer, a damn Vietnam saying, hurled at me.

So no, I don't think you'd be a piece of **** if you were dismissive. This has nothing to do with Ware, was just giving you my opinion cause I know what you want through.
Thank you both for your service. Can't imagine the stuff you and @USMC Cat have been through.

Lance can say what he wants. No problem with that. But let's be honest, he will in no way be a reason why we will potentially make a deep run in March. However, if Cal plays him too much down the stretch (which I don't think he will) he could very well be a reason we are sent home early again.

And this isn't a knock on the guy, just the reality of his limitations as a player.

So since UK fans have never played D1 basketball, we don’t know anything about it?

We are just people who pour our money, time, and emotional energy into a basketball team for decades yet don’t bother to learn anything about the game and how it should be played/coached?

Get real Lance.
He’s just repeating what his coach said to him. Ware doesn’t have enough life experience to know his statement isn’t true. And the game like that comment. That’s demeaning to every one of us who have competed at a high level. It may not have been for uk basketball but many of us have been in similar situations. I’ve been pretty nice about ware because he has developed at UK from day one so I’ve given him more grace than most but this is a game changer. It puts him into a keion brooks role now. Lecturing the fans. Listen if we didn’t have these fans lance you wouldn’t have an opportunity to play at the level. These guys think to highly of themselves and look down on who puts them there. It’s all on cal bc that’s how he’s acted toward bbn for several years now. And he had the audacity to lecture oscar on humility after msu. You can’t make this crap up.

I agree with the kid on a certain level but that being said I do think some go a bit overboard with certain comments but fans have every right to criticize Cal and some of his in game coaching decisions and poor game preparations.

If the fans opinions are insignificant, why does Lance care? Or why do you?

Because deep down inside Lance, like you, KNOWS the criticisms are correct. When he score 12 points and gets ONLY 3 rebounds against an 0-6 D2 school, it makes him look even worse using that performance as justification for the team’s and his PISS POOR performance down the stretch against Mich. St.

I in NO WAY think that ANY fan should direct message ANY UK player on social media to denigrate them. However, this board is NOT the same. Lance needs to realize that when he lumps together the WORST of our fans with the best, he is actually doing something EQUALLY as bad as what he is complaining about.

And, in the current NIL climate, with many fans donating big $ to these players, they have a little more invested than just two hours of their time. Not to mention the $ spent on tickets & travel. These players aren’t just innocent amateurs, anymore. Now, NOBODY should be going to his Twitter, or, any other personal page of his & directly insulting him, regardless. But, if he can’t handle what is said on message boards, or, call-in shows, then maybe somewhere like UK isn’t for him. You better have thick skin if you play here. Or, stay off social media & stay in your safe space.

But, honestly, it sounds more like something that he’s heard from Calipari. Our coach has an obvious disdain for fans & anyone who dares to criticize him, valid, or, not. So, I wouldn’t be surprised, at all, if he’s telling his players that fans & their opinions are meaningless & preaching that they are above such criticism from the ignorant Bennies. But, I think they might be shocked by how many of us have played, coached, or, have at least been around basketball most of our lives & aren’t the inexperienced, uneducated hillbillies that they seem to think we are.

It seems like Cal wants all the praise, but, none of the accountability when things go wrong. And, now players are also reflecting that attitude. Ware would be nothing more than a victory cigar in any other era of UK basketball & he feels entitled to, basically, tell fans that they know nothing & to keep their mouths shut & wallets open? What exactly does he do well besides being tall? If Cal’s teams would stop underachieving they’d hear nothing but crickets. Like I said, nobody should ever insult the players directly, regardless. But, the players shouldn’t bite the hands that feed them, either.

Well stated.

“It’s easy for people or fans to point their fingers and other people to point their fingers and get on Twitter and type stuff about you,” Ware told reporters Thursday night. “But I’m pretty sure none of them have ever played in a game like that, and never will. Never been in my position or anybody on my team’s position. So it’s kinda funny to see people talk about stuff they don’t know anything about. They just watch.”

Kind of a snide remark. Yes, we watch but care. If we didn't there wouldn't be a fanbase called BBN. Just bc I've never put on the UK jersey doesn't mean I'm not invested or know nothing about basketball. Quite the contrary. I've been a UK fan for longer than he's been alive. So let's suffice to say we both have unique perspectives of caring about the program but recognize it's for the same cause. Don't crap where ya eat Lance!!!
The idea of anyone on this cesspool of negativity being offended by a "snide" remark is laughable.

Who’s offended??? I think it’s a joke for him to think he has suddenly arrived and created an AHA moment for a 12 pt 3 rebound performance against the one of the WORST teams in college basketball.

Forgive us for expecting us to play better down the stretch against an unranked Mich St team and ACTUALLY beat them.

I think it’s hilarious that Lance thinks his opinion means as much as he thinks it does.

Then let him go out against the Zags and put those numbers up or try to better them. Don’t use South Carolina St. as his vindication. That’s ridiculous.

Use the criticism as motivation to play better when it actually matters.

Sure, I understand you're hyperbolic. 😉

Most of you are unathletic (fat) slobs who didn't play. Maybe not all, but most. But that really isn't relevant. Because regardless of whether you used to play ball or not, I guarantee none of you played it at this level or dealt with the **** our players do. So you have no idea what it's like, even if you played on your jv team or whatever.
Lance has a right to say stupid things just like you, Ed, HH, kyASSfan, etc. I won’t deny that. But Lance also goes first class and FREE to the Bahamas, stays at the finest hotels, eats the finest food, flies around the globe, is worshipped by hundreds of thousand BBN fans etc. Doesn’t spend a penny. Not to mention the free education and more free clothes and athletic gear than he could ever wear. Then, after that he’ll make millions of dollars playing a game if someone is dumb enough to pay him. All this for a KID that can’t hit a jump shot or make a free throw if his life depended on it. I no longer play competitive bball but I promise I can still make 7-8 of 10 free throws and he can’t touch that. Maybe he should practice the game that gives him the lavish lifestyle he lives instead of working on his hair and running his mouth. But he absolutely has a right to say how he feels just like the rest of us.
PS- I’m not an unathletic fat slob.

It is one thing to type stuff on here and vent, it is a total other thing to tweet at the players and coaches.

Folks tweeting mass negativity at people directly are f'ing insane in my opinion. That is just messed up.
Could have ended the thread with this post. We’ve all vented on an anonymous message board. But tagging or tweeting at a player makes you a freaking lunatic.

I just started a verified Ware Twitter account with an 8 dollar check mark.

I’m about to be brutally honest about myself and discuss what I need to do to be a better basketball player. Also going to discuss Calipari and the team, and what hes doing wrong that isn’t helping.

Y’all follow me.

None of that rambling gives you an unfettered right to talk trash to someone. Certainly doesn't prevent them from saying **** back.

Nothing Lance or any othet player gets is "free". They put in the work the get where they are, and then put in a hell of a lot more in practice and conditioning all year. They also don't stay at the finest places or eat the finest foods. They stay in nice places, typically places many of the fans stay as well. They eat at nice places that many of the same fans eat as well.

I would say he practices it plenty. If he had a bigger role, he would likely put up bigger numbers.

I doubt you ever played competitive ball besides some middle school or high school team. That's essentially YMCA ball with refs.

I will say this Ware sounds like a baby and what he needs to do is focus on learning some kind of skill other than smiling and running around. That’s truth.

Also if you try and contact players directly, while I don’t see why they care (should be above caring) you’re stupid. In public please behave yourselves and have some class.

So it’s ok for fans to crap on the team and players but they can’t respond in kind?
Haha! I totally agree. Just like it's ok to crap all over the coach but get upset when he makes any kind of snarky comment to the press about the fans. Truth is, we're spoiled brats. We act like it regularly. We don't appreciate what we have. We want wins above all else, and that is part of what makes this program the greatest in history. But the other side of that is we feel entitled to wins and pout, whine, cuss, and go on drunken rants when the team doesn't perform to perfection.

So, Ware has been around this block a few times. He's received his share of criticism and he's defending his teammates here as well. So I have ZERO problem with him making comments. Anyone here who has problems with his comments would be total hypocrites.

No, I’d never put my name on this board after what happened to Jason Spear. The psychos are rampant, here. But, you should still hold your breath. I haven’t said one thing about being a tough guy. Just stating facts. But, you seem to like the tough guy act by calling me wHimpy for pointing out the obvious. Wonder if you’d say that in person?

Lmao. Congrats on your 70% free throw shooting in your driveway. What an asinine post. You don't think he is practicing his *** off with the team everyday trying to get better? Lance gets all those things you mentioned because he has worked his whole life for them and he has a skill set and God given ability that you and I don't have. Why are we berating a kid who has accomplished his goals and earned a free trip to the Bahamas and free education and all of the other stuff you mentioned? He doesn't need to score 15 points a game to contribute to the success of this team. He needs to play defense, rebound, hustle, get put backs, and use his 5 fouls. We have elite scorers and he doesn't have to be one of them to make an impact.

We should be building these kids up instead of ripping them apart for not meeting the unrealistic expectations that most people put on them. I, for one, am excited to see what he can do moving forward and how he can contribute to this team.

Of all the stupid sh*t you just said only one thing is valid. That’s when you ask why ‘we are berating a kid etc’. So I’ll answer that for you. I’m berating him for saying that stupid sh*t about the fans. Most of BBN worship all UK athletes in all UK sports. I’m not a kid so I don’t worship them like I did when I was a young boy cheering for them and asking for their autograph but I still support all UK sports. Lance was actually one of my favorite players until he said that garbage and made a fool out of himself.
