According to Jojo and the CL. Said they'd still play occasional shows, but no more steady runs.

Went to both shows, and I wasn't impressed with Jimmy on the Mikey tunes, he can't play the licks and I wasn't the only one that thinks this way...
His Diner was just horrible, the jam's aren't even close...
Jimmy is great on the covers but otherwise I was not impressed with the post Mikey-Widespread guitar licks by Jimmy..

It was great to see old friends and all, but unless you are all up on the Molly the music isn't the same with out "Panic" on guitar..

Go listen to some Mikey and compare him to Jimmy now...

Good Lord

I never knew you didn't like Jimmy with Panic. But by all means keep repeating yourself and beating that dead horse. You have been doing it for years on here about everything. No need to stop now

What DOES meet your approval? All I ever see you post about is who or what does not. That must suck to live that way.

I am actually a very easy going and positive person.
I wanted more of our basketball team for years and we finally have a great coach in Howland.
As far as Mullen, he has taken us far, but he still hasn't beaten Bama and The Bears are kicking his *** on and off the field.
This past year he has made some changes, and I hope Dan continues to do so, and our record reflects it for the better.

You have to understand that after seeing well over 100 WSP shows with Mikey since 1990, that I am allowed to have my opinion.
I don't hate Jimmy, he is very talented. His Mr. Soul and Stop Breaking Down were great..

I think Mayer sounds good with what is left of the Dead, he sounds much better than they did with Trey.
The Chris Robinson Brotherhood with Neal Casal on Guitar are worth seeing too
Foo Fighters, Sturgil Simpson, The Meters or any of their side projects are always a must see live.

Seeing Sturgill next month.
It will never sound or feel the way it did with Mikey. Don't deprive yourself of a fun time chasing what it used to be. It's still very good.

Just an opinion.

Different doesn't make it bad. I agree with you, I prefer to listen to old Mikey shows and the old studio albums with him. I liked his sound moreso than Jimmy's. However, that doesn't mean Jimmy sucks. He brings his own style. It's good in it's own way. It's different, but that doesn't mean it sucks. Jimmy is a great guitarist in his own right.

I always figured if they ever wanted to get close to to Mikey's sound they'd tap someone like Sam Holt.

I'm considering going to that Chattanooga show...

...but haven't pulled the trigger on the purchase. I was strongly considering seeing Merle Haggard that same night in Macon, Georgia but the show was canceled (now it's reset with Jason Isbell and Tommy Emmanuel who were originally scheduled to open for Merle).

His new cd was released today. Some of the purist country fans are going to be pissed. It's def different. I like it but there will be some upset folks.

I just hope he takes the Dap Kings with him on tour cause that is much of the sound.

CRB is a good show to see. Neal Casal's circles around the sun,the dead interludes, is a great mega chill mode cd.

Also after seeing houser about as much as you have...

...I agree it obviously doesn't sound the same. Doesn't mean it can't be good. Giving your opinion is a little different than beating a. Dead horse the way you do....on every single topic. But hey, knock yourself out

Can confirm that it was just as awesome in person at Fare Thee Well. Everyone was asking what that great music was. Then during one of the breaks, they showed Neal making the music.

So back to the original topic, do we think that they are for real?
I tend to think they are just tired and will recharge their batteries, do side shows and then come back in 2017. Too much money to be made.
And Duane has provided a spark and energy. He owns that 17'n kit back there

They are touring the through the end of the year

And starting in 2017 is when they say they are done. They will still ply festivals and probably some weeks runs but at least for the immediate future you won't see any touring
