Not the best game, but a second half defensive effort was the difference.

Iowa shouldn't have barely needed him after halftime, due to having such a big lead and locking WIU down defensively.
That was pretty ugly. But again BM will avoid shortcuts to establish a foundation.

WIU is so bad - despite Settles desperately trying to make them sound like world beaters - that the Hawks looked 10+ times worse tonight than the first game, yet still surrendered 11 less points.

Color me surprised that the Profs hit 10 3's to 8 for the Quakers lol.
I don't know, this team needs more offensive options other than Stirtz and maybe Folgueiras. Hausen and Koch might need more minutes and shot attempts regardless of their defense.

I'm not that concerned about offense because they pass the ball so well. I'm concerned about the rebounding. I think that's the only legit concern take from first two games.
When you have big guards you should be rebounding at a high clip, unless you are going up against a formidable front court.
A lot of folks might be overreacting about this team IMO. Remember all of the pre-conference games under McCaffery?
It was the second game, players were not locked in mentally, and they did not play very well as a team, but they won comfortably. Someone mentioned a "work in progress", and they are learning as they go. I am pretty optimistic that they will have a good year overall once they jell primarily because of defense. Biggest concern is the 5 and rebounding for me.
