Wage growth is pretty much where it has been since 2015. I understand your model, but if we are this far from balance with full employment and wage growth is where it has been, your model doesn't fix anything. It just isn't an accurate reflection of what is really happening.

Well, I really don’t have a model. Just observe what is happening. Also, there are plenty of well educated people that agree with you. Come have a beer with me in a few years, if the deficit has not come down, I’ll buy the first two rounds.

Let’s get together in about 3-4 years and see if the deficit has come down. I’ll buy the first round. I am mindful that plenty of well educated economists think this is the wrong thing to do. And there are many forces that impact it(can you spell FED?).

TIME will tell.

I think if we just limited increases of discretionary budget outlays to not more than 2% of GDP for any one year, if the economy keeps growing we'd just grow out way out of the debt. Let's say GDP this year finishes around 3.8%. If we kept outlays in fiscal '19 growth to under 2% in the discretionary part of the budget, that's Trillions saved right there! Do that for four or five years after steady 3.5-4.5% GDP, and we're cooking with gas! We have a 16 trillion dollar economy!

If by some miracle those bozos got enough stones to tackle entitlements, we'd easily get this thing fixed in a decade. But let's not kid ourselves about their courage to do something bold like reforming entitlements.[eyeroll]

The three you mentioned are a pretty scummy trio but you really think Trump isn't immoral in his search for votes? My God he lied about all his political opponents during the campaign. The lock up Clinton BS when she has never been charged with a crime? Asking Russia to find the missing emails and magically they find emails. (Coincidence?). Middle class tax cuts by next week?

How is that different? It isn't if you are honest with yourself.

Trump cleverly manipulated the media against his opponents. Did he lie? Perhaps, but so did Harry Reed when he said Romney paid no taxes. His answer to justify it later was Mitt did not win. It’s politics today. Better have an iron jock strap and big kahunahs to step on the stage.

Trump made many enemies in his own party and it has cost him in lack of support for his agenda. He got free publicity because the left did not think he had a snowball’s chance vs Hillary. And they liked the surge they got in their own business by being his foil. Their mistake.

As a person he is not very likable and his associates have sometimes been from low places (like Garth). As a politician he has made mistakes. I get it. Even agree. But his basic stands are in line with much of the country. And my financial situation has improved by nearly 100%. And I’m going to vote that. My wallet.

Harry Reid might be a bigger piece of dung than Mitch McConnell and that is saying a lot. I put a lot of the blame for the ******** we today on Reid and his shenanigans.

Trump said Ted Cruz' father was in on the Kennedy assassination. I think that crap is over the line. He made fun of Carly Fiorina's looks in a debate. Clearly over the line. Maybe the worst lie he has told was when he said obama didn't call the families of soldiers liked in action when criticized for not calling families himself. Pretty despicable lie if you ask me. The problem is that trump is a narcissist. The lack the ability to feel empathy. They lie to somehow feel validated as it is validation that drives them. See weekly rallies. I am not making this up. He is a narcissist. Once people realize that and understand what makes a narcissist tick, it is easier to see trump for what he is. I have had the unfortunate opportunity to both work for and manage one. Hope I never run into another.

I'd prefer to see you criticize his policies as much as you do his personal shortcomings. No one is fooled by Trump. Folks like what he's doing for the country. What are your criticisms/alternatives to his policies voters should look at? (not yours per se but from his political opponents)

Voters want policy solutions. Leave all the mud to sling in the buckets holding it. No one comes back by later and cleans up their mess after slinging mud around. Look at Judge Kavanaugh.

What are the policies better than Trump's and the Republican's voters should be paying attention to?

So yo have made some errors in judgement, does that make you a bad person? I don;t think so. But While I agree with much of how you characterize our president, my judgement is he does what he promises. He fights for himself and America in general.

It also interests me that Reed is getting recognition for his past doings. His move to a simple majority for Senate approval of judges probably killed bi partisan negotiation forever... Very short sighted. While Fiorina is a solid Republican, what he said was correct, she is not a beauty queen. As for despicable/deplorable, all one has to do to earn that label is disagree with the left on any issue. So, I'll own that while I work towards retirement.

Hey atlkvb, did you see Mr. Trump hosted a youth Black Leaders meeting at the White House? Saw story on it on Fox. Sure looked like those kids were excited for the chance to meet the president. Also looked like Al Sharpton did not take it well. Those kids all had bad parents,

Actually saw it after i posted.... Sorry about that. Just saw how excited those kids were. Could not hide that. Still wonder if all he is doing will transalte to down ballot votes on Hose races.... Won't have to wait mch longer to find out.

There are a few signs you can look to that should tell you Democrats are going to get wiped out.

They are not running on their agenda. Where races are competitive, they (Dems) are acting like Republicans. Hiding their icons like Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi. Do you see them out there campaigning saying "vote for us"? Nope. There's a reason why.

They are hiding their true agenda which is to impeach Trump, kill the Congressional investigations into the FISA scandal, and repeal the Trump tax cuts. Again, they are NOT running on this! Why not? They know it's a loser for them.

Their internals have shown a steady erosion of their base support. The bifurcating is pissing off their hard core Left, which will either stay home or vote for some crazy write in radical. These are the true believers, the kook fringe Left... ticked the party isn't running more hard Left. It's "hide Bernie" 2.0!

They are broke. They can't raise money among their base donors. Most of their income is coming from special interest groups and Hollywood deep pockets desperate not to lose the culture war. Rank and file Dems are demoralized. They have no message, no rally cry other than "we hate Trump" and no fund raising rock star to wring money out of the base.

Republicans are on fire! There are several reasons but Kavanaugh lit the fuse and this "caravan" business exploded the bomb! Republicans are fit to be tied, and want to send a strong message of defiance, anger, frustration, and general "We've had it" with the Left and their smear tactics and lies.

Finally, there is no more talk of a giant "Blue Wave". Democrats six months ago thought this thing was wrapped up and in the bag. They were bragging on how big their gains would be in both houses. Now the electoral map has flipped, they're hoping just to take back the House...they know the Senate is gone. But voters who will be casting ballots for Republican Senators are not going to suddenly vote for a Democrat House member on that same ballot! A vote for Republican Martha McSally in Arizona for instance, will also be a vote for Republicans down ballot. Democrats know this, but can't admit it to their base voters who they need to at least show up thinking they have a chance to take the House. If those voters knew what Democrat internal polling shows, they'd stay home.

Trust me...it's going to be a bloodbath for the Dems. The only thing we don't know right now, is how much blood they will lose? 9-1-1 mobile triage units are standing by to treat the casualties...many of them will be media types who will have have nervous breakdowns on the air as they watch the demoralizing returns roll in on the "Red Wave" not a "Blue Wave". They will be reporting on the death of a political party in roughly 9 days.

Stay tuned.

Listened to an African American mother earlier tonight discuss why she opposed open borders. She was seeing black children having a harder time qualifying for many public service jobs. Employers are asking for bi lingual skills.... Made me think about the last time I flew thru Miami, it was a third world experience for sure but nearly every employee there spoke Spanish. So much for Americanizing (is that a word?) and so much for her child's opportunity for those jobs. But Shumer, Feinstein & Pelosi don't care as long as they get more votes.

It doesn't get reported in the media but Blacks are very much opposed to open borders and Sanctuary cities for exactly the reasons you stated in your post. They also feel the Democrat party is casting them aside, taking for granted their votes for Democrats are solid and going after the Hispanic vote.

Pisses 'em off!

They're not alone. Black Mega Church Pastors influence hundreds of thousands who will vote. I keep saying this will be one of the bigger stories this election cycle. The amount of Black support for Trump has been totally ignored by the major media but they won't be ignoring it for much longer.
