What teams would you put in front of us?It's a very weak group this year for all the teams.

Admittedly, I don’t know. I mean we are more of a typical 12-15 type team. We very well be one of the 5 best teams next year. I just think we are a team with obvious flaws but still talented.

I hope we go small this year now that Blackshear is swampland-bound.

Put Whitney at the 4, Juzang at the 3, with Maxey or Quickley at the 2 and Hagans at point guard.

EJ plays the 5.

Run people out of the gym.
This is what I’m hoping for too! Would be amazing to see!

I know it's said a lot, but the field is really weak this season. Reminds me of '13 when teams like IU and UofL were the preseason favorites. So many great players left the year before (AD, MKG, Beal) and the incoming Freshmen class was really weak (Bennett ended up going #1 that year). Same this year.

Some years you look at the rosters and see loaded teams (12- UK, UNC, tOSU. 15- UK, Duke, Wisky, Zona) and some years you just don't see as much talent. I think this is a down year.

MSU is the favorite. UK is next. Then Duke and KU are the third tier. Then UofL leads the rest of the pack.

Like I said elsewhere , huge miss on letting KB escape. Huge . It would turn a weakness into a strength on a roster that really one has 1 weakness . IMO much more painful that missing out on some 17 year burger boy who hasn't done crap at the upper d1 level.

I know few want to imagine this to be the case, but IMO Blackshear never had any intentions of coming here. He simply went up the coast, using up school's resources, just to create some mystery and get his name into the media and hopefully perk up the ears of scouts. If he wanted to be at UK, that would have been his first visit.

I agree wholeheartedly.

Get those skilled guards and wings on the floor together and let them loose.

How else do we find enough minutes for Hagans, Maxey, Quickley, Whitney, Brooks, and Juzang?

Even if we get Dante, those guards/wings need to play a lot of minutes, so play Whitney and/or Brooks at the 4 at least some to get our skilled guys on the floor.

I find it silly how high folks are putting Dook. Two of the best classes back to back and they went home early. This bunch will go home even earlier.
Duke at 2 is just incredibly wrong. They basically returned Jones who was ok and brought in an inferior class to the one that just lost the elite 8.

I think Blackshear is likely to be an All-American next year. I think with a decent team around him, they're probably worthy of a top 10 ranking.

Florida may give us problems this year.

I think this Kentucky team will be a Top 10 team late in the season. We will have 5-7 losses but I think will get back to the final 4. Hopefully we will be very good by late Jan, but see it more of mid Feb.

Honestly, I didn’t want to have to defend that face of Blackshear anyways. That is one ugly dude

Gary Parrish.....[roll][roll]
He would rank duke high if they were starting their managers.....he's a hack.

These rankings are ridiculous because of him and because it's June. Good grief

Other teams: Wowee would you look at the guys they have coming in! Chad Smith could be a real talent off the bench.

Kentucky: Awful lot of talent, maybe too much. Let's see if Cal can get them ready in time for the big dance.

Yeah replace Brooks for whitney and make sure it is Maxey at the 2 ( as quickley is not very quick ) and you have a hell of a speed squad . I don't think he would use it much but it would be something to use in small stretches . He would still use a normal line up with Richards or Sestina at C and EJ or Brooks at PF most of the time as he likes having lots of size on the floor. That's what is great about this team almost everyone is at least 6'7 .

There's about 50 to 60 posters on this message board whose opinions I value more than Parrish, Goodman, and that 5/10 lady who writes for ESPN.

I'm serious too. How these tools made it so far is beyond me.

No way Virginia is close to top 10.
They will always play elite defense and slow the game down to the point where it’s unwatchable.
So yes they will be top 10. And probably enjoy a sweet 16 exit.

I don't like rankings that come out in April, but what's wrong with June rankings? I don't see a lot changing at this point.

Louisville is loaded next year, would not be surprised if they win the ACC.

They are not a Top 10 team, just stop

How is Louisville not top 10? They bring back a lot of depth and added Kimble, Williamson, and Igiehon. They will be a major factor this year.

Duke, UNC, and UVA are all going to be down this year as well, so UL winning the ACC isn't far-fetched. Duke is going to start 4 freshman, 3 of which have no business starting, unless they go with the vets (White/DeLaurier) who are limited. UNC has Cole Anthony and a couple grad transfers. UVA will be down after losing 3 guys to the draft.

Well, some rosters are not even fully set yet. Also, injuries and other things can happen in the months ahead until the season starts.
To me it's like the ridiculous bracketology that Lunardi puts out. I guess folks do it to stay relevant, but they are a waste at this time of year.

Florida was 20-16 last year, and graduated 4 Seniors. But they are Final-4 contenders this year. Lmao, yeah okay.
