Counter-point, Florida returned their three best players (Nembhard, Locke, and Johnson) and are adding three newcomers that are better than the three that left.

Blackshear > Hayes
Lewis > Hudson
Mann > Allen

Four players graduated, but one of the four, Keith Stone, tore his ACL and has a year of eligibility left and is going elsewhere. Likewise, two other big men from last year had season-ending leg injuries.

Sorry man, but ridiculous to think we’re anything but top 5!

It is not ridiculous to think a team without a proven player isn’t top 5. I’ll acknowledge you can make an argument we could be. However, it is not a given in any way.

Florida was 20-16 last year, and graduated 4 Seniors. But they are Final-4 contenders this year. Lmao, yeah okay.

Last year has absolutely no bearing on this year. Their best player played for Virgina Tech last season. Every other team lost a bunch of guys too. On Paper, Florida should be very good. Likely with Us and LSU the best teams in the SEC.

I'm not sold on Florida's big jump in this guy's opinion. If KB is THAT much of a difference maker for Florida this year, then either he really has picked properly to elevate his NBA status, or everyone else is really a lot weaker than I had been thinking.

I still don't get Duke at #2, other than the fact is ... well ... it's coach K and Duke. LOL

SMH

As usual, we're gonna be fine, by season's end. We will be firmly in the mix for a Final Four slot and NOBODY will want a piece of Kentucky by the time March rolls around.

Go Big Blue!

This is ridiculous. It should be:

1. MSU
2. Kansas
3. UK
4. UNC
5. Memphis

Florida was going to be tough before Blackshear due to their guards and wings, had a talented but young froncourt. Blackshear makes them a contender. I think they're ranked about where they should be. Tennessee is who's overrated, they have no business being in the top 25.

Completely agree. A player like Blackshear doesn't make all that much of an impact from a plus-minus standpoint typically, but for a team like Florida with a huge, huge, frontcourt hole, Blackshear will make a massive improvement.

Gonzaga and Memphis right there on the edge of the top 10. Gonzaga has the coach, Memphis has the talent.

Dude they got bounced hard by F'in Minnesota in the 1st round... i dont see it

Yes that was last year. This is a new year with almost everyone except VJ King returning, and a top 10 recruiting class. Take the blinders off, they are 10 ten in about every preseason poll for a reason.

I don't see Gonzaga having a big year. They lost thier four best playes and will be relying on Gilder from A&M and Tillie, both of whom are injury risks. Is Gilder even able to play?

I think Arizona will be the best team out west this year with Mannion and Green coming in with all the returnees. I also really like what Max Hazzard adds to their team. I think they are being overlooked (assuming no NCAA violations)

Villanova and Arizona are like mirror images of each other with the returnees and both getting a five-star PG and a five-star wing/forward that went to IMG Academy. I still can't believe Bill Self couldn't get a legacy recruit in Robinson-Earl at KU.

Well, some rosters are not even fully set yet. Also, injuries and other things can happen in the months ahead until the season starts.
To me it's like the ridiculous bracketology that Lunardi puts out. I guess folks do it to stay relevant, but they are a waste at this time of year.

Which ones are still to be set? Kentucky? Assuming you get N'faly, CBS isn't going to bump you more than a spot. Personally, I think KU is too low at 5.

I'm not sold on Louisville either. They lost 14 games last year, got bounced in the very first NCAA tournament game by a very weak Minnesota Gopher team and were 1-4 at neutral sites. I would put UL as a Top 15 team based on who is returning but not Top 5. Their only really good game last year was North Carolina at Chapel Hill. If it wasn't for that win, Louisville would have been on the bubble and maybe not even made the tournament. I'll wait until I see Louisville about 10 games into the season before I consider them any kind of real threat.

What teams would you put in front of us?It's a very weak group this year for all the teams.
RobJones is a UL troll who got triggered by those in this thread who think UL is overrated. He got mad, lashed out, and called UK overrated because his jimmies were rustled. Notice he didn't answer your question.
