Yes but 1/15 makes everything irrelevant, it doesn't matter that he's the reason we made the tournament in the first place in the back half of the season, not to mention us actually winning against Providence.

Or that Cal wanted to play him as a stand in the corner and shoot off the bench player and nothing else, and when he finally let him play starter minutes and be in the offensive flow, the team and everyone on the court immediately became drastically better.

The problem is and has been the lack of balance. Cal can’t put together a roster that’s the problem. He’s forced to take what he can that’s why he jumped the gun and took wheeler. That one decision cost us the two seasons in which we had older players. This upcoming season showed promise with the class and the fact cal should have returned several players. It didn’t so we will yet again have an incomplete roster. Cal just sucks at what he does is the bottomline. Recruiting is more like being a gm in the nba now than just going out and giving a sales pitch. It’s business for the players and we need a coach who understands and may be carving out what that business will look like. Barney and cal give a terrible look for UK to go and whine to Congress about nil. While they whine everyone is taking our lunch.

Reeves doesn’t mind coming off the bench as long as gets his minutes. That’s how it was last year and he said as much. Of course he eventually started.

If he was better than DJ or Edwards he would have stayed in the draft.
You fail to mention he had his chance to impress the NBA and couldn't even get a combine invite.
He had some nice scoring games but he also got scored on plenty.
He's not a complete player and if you want to be the best you can be, you roll with DJ and Edwards out of the gate and if Reeves wants to compliment that then that's great.

Actually Reeves has proven that he can't. And it proves nothing of the sort. Cal has never played favorites and Cal has never promised any player minutes or position. And you have never heard even one player say that he was promised anything. Even after they are gone no player has ever said that.

You only right that Reeves is proven. He's proven he can't play point. He's proven he can't guard. He's proven he shrinks in the big moments. Reeves came to UK to try and make it to the NBA. That's not going to happen. So he has to accept that he can be a practice player here and go along for the ride or he can go to a small school and start and put up empty stats. He could be a fine practice player if he accepts that role. But he's going to be a Toppin or Brooks type that won't accept their role then he should go and we will be better without him.

We have had enough role players having to play as primary. There has been a severe lack of talent on the team the last 3 seasons. A guy like Reeves should have been a 10 minute a game player at best on a good UK team. Just speaks to how bad the recruiting was that he played as much as he did. Cal's transfer experiment is over. And I'm glad it is.

It's a new wave now. Reeves can ride it or get out of the way.

Nothing wrong with coming off the bench as he would get starter minutes.
If you park a DJ Wagner or Justin Edwards behind Reeves, then you're probably done signing kids like that.
Some of you act like BJ Boston or Khalil Whitney were the norm for freshmen, they were anomalies.
The best freshmen players in UK history have been recruited by Cal.
If you can play it doesn't matter how old you are.
Devin Booker was one of the youngest players in the entire NCAA and he did just fine
Same for Kevin Knox.
Reeves wouldn't be a star if they gave him two more years of eligibility.

Yeah, mostly the transfer guards. Wallace and tyty were better defenders. Everyone sucked on abomination season and not sure how maxey was as that was a forgotten season due to no ncaa tourney.

IMO the top thing on Cal's mind is getting Wagner, Bradshaw and Edwards ready to be a high draft pick. Program as a whole after that.

Wallace, Hagans, IQ, Maxey, TY TY were all good defenders. Mintz was at worst average

Let’s look at the Reeves situation. Cal has a PROVEN Senior. 25 double digit scoring games last year. Wants him To come off the Bench behind UNPROVEN Freshman. Why?? I think the recruit and their handlers have been promised minutes. If you can give me another explanation into why at this point anyone would expect Reeves not to start then I am all ears.

If all the Freshman come in and play lights out after several games and their play sends Reeves to the bench then that is understandable. But as of right now…Promised minutes and a starting position for the Freshman makes the only Sense as to why Cal wants Reeves to start the Season on the Bench.

Reeves knows this. We wonder why Livingston stayed in the draft. Livingston knows this.

The Cal Brand is all about getting kids to the NBA. He evaluates that possibility while a kid plays a season at UK. I think If a player doesn’t shine that first year Cal spits him out and goes looking for his next NBA player. We have the highest turnover of players in College Basketball. Why? Because the players know their Coach will give their playing time to the Newbies.

I am ready for this non sense to stop. We need a New Coach whose main purpose is to win Basketball Games for UK. If players make it to the NBA,so be it. But Mitch gave him a contract that won’t make that possible in the near future.

Look for this next year to hear the same old excuses of being Young as we lose 10+ games and then have 5-6 players leave the team.
