Happy Wednesday morning. After such a quiet week in the wider world, time for excitement...and prognostication, because we are sorely missing those in our lives right now.

I kind of see this going the way of a shootout. It could be another Cardiac Cat afternoon, so hang on.

56-3, Cats, and UN-L’s going to kick with a minute left to avoid the shutout.

OSU beat them 52-17. I think our D is the equal of any team if the O supports with respectable play and ball control. If Peyton lights things up in the first half against the depleted UN secondary NU gets off to a good start and then grinds it out in the second half.

This one is really hard to predict. Nebraska looked decent for the first half against OSU, but they have only played one game, so it's hard to get a good feel for how they are this year.

In the end, I have a lot of trust in our defense, especially in limiting their run game.

I think we have one of the best defenses in the B1G. May not be reflected in the score line on Saturday, but as long as we win, that's all I care about.

Taking the approximate average number of points for each over the last five NU-UNL games gives:

NU 24
UNL 23.

looks as good as any to me.

Sounds like Nebraska's defeat at Oklahoma in 2004, where UNL avoided a whitewash by a late FG to lose 3-30 instead of 0-30. The game where HWSNBN infamously yelled, "F'in Hillbillies!"

My prediction of Saturday's matchup is Wildcats 28, Cornhuskers 24.

Unlike the last three games in this series, this game will not be decided on the last possession or in OT. There is about a 1/5 chance that the Cats cannot contain the Husker RPO, and that the Nebraska defense forces the Cats into multiple turnovers and gets a bunch of TFL’s. If they do, Nebraska wins by about 4 TDS.

More likely, the veteran Cat defense maintains its discipline and limits the big play, while Ramsey hits several deep throws against an over-aggressive Nebraska defense, and the picks them apart in the short game when they try to adjust.

Frost and Fitz are very similar. Both pretty much down to earth guys who were superstars for the schools they coach for. I hope we win big vs Neb tomorrow. But I don't feel about Frost the way I despise Harba or Fleck. Frost seems like a cool guy and a great coach. I just hope my favorite coach Fitz wins on Saturday.

Frost is nothing like Fitz. Frost is an arrogant, entitled prick who only “cares” about his players as long as they can help him win. He uses them and his players know it too. That’s not Fitz.

You've met Frost? You've. spoken to his players? You know what he thinks of them, and what they think of him?

This is what Lunker was saying when you speak in fact when you don't... ya know... know this to be fact. At all.

It is incredibly arrogant of you to make such assumptions

How is that Larussa has no chance prediction coming Mr. Insider? Or how about the Tommy Rees has no chance of becoming offensive Coordinator at ND or NU? Perhaps you should consider that you are not the only one that has insights and opinions. I don’t need to know Frost to reach that conclusion. I’ve seen him interviewed plenty of times, i’ve watched how he handles his team and how he recruits and I also know people in the recruiting business that have first hand experience with him. Like many college coaches, Frost treats his players and recruits like they are a means to HIS desired end. That makes him nothing like Fitz, a guy who cares deeply about the well being of his players before, during and after their time at NU regardless of how much success any of those players have on the field.

I fully agree that Fleck is a selfish terd. Harbaugh I think is self-important, although I think cares about his players. Not clear to me that Frost is a self-important guy on the order of those two - to me he seems like he cares a lot about his players and about Nebraska so I don't have issues with how he interacts with his players or pushes the program.... he's just not doing a very good job as HC at his primary goal - winning football games. At least as of yet, anyways.

That’s fine. You are entitled to that opinion. I have formed a different one on him and I expressed it largely to defend Fitz not to criticize Frost. Comparing Fitz to Frost is a great disservice to Fitz.
