If the last sentence of your post is actually true then that is the most MSTATE thing I’ve ever read. Only we would decide not to use something in fear of it being popular.

Not sure I believe that though. The school would earn $$$ off the sale of the MSU logo apparel would it not?

Doesn’t make much sense.

Can't help that it doesn't make much sense. Its the truth. They do not want that logo out in public. One logo, one brand*

* Baseball excluded.

Which reminds me, the baseball uniforms with the M State were actually produced and the M-State was removed.

Remember these uniforms and how out of place they seemed? They had an MState on the sleeve and there was an MState hat as well.

Just unbelievable to me that the university instead chooses not to use the MSU logo.

Big head scratcher.

That ******** about one school one brand one logo or whatever, is just that. ********!

Instead of embracing something popular we ignore it.

Good info, and I have also heard similar info on the interlocking MSU. Chad Thomas, our marketing director before Leah Beasley, spoke to a sports studies class I was in and told us something similar. This would’ve been circa 2012. I believe his comment was the Nike doesn’t actually own it, rather we have just chosen to not use it.

But then I realize there has also been other contradicting info on that (an interview with Mike Nemeth from years ago namely) so I don’t really know what to believe other than the athletic department isn’t really interested in the interlocking MSU logo regardless of if we have rights to it or not.

How awful would that have been had they succeeded in putting that on the baseball caps.

How could anyone think that was a good idea?

Who gets to make these lasting branding/logo decisions? One person? A committee? A few higher ups in the AD?

No white helmets,no white helmets,no white helmets,no white helmets. I HATE white helmets. Every time I see them I think of Croom!! I want that miserable time in our program to go away from my memory.

You can think whatever you want, no matter how ridiculous it is. But it's pretty freaking ridiculous to claim dark pants looks like JUCO football when they're worn by plenty of teams at all levels of football.

It’s ridiculous to have a different opinion than patdog**

Our Mstate banner that has been pushed on us by the university.... didn’t come from any great research...nope. But these days they continue to double down on this. I just wonder if someone like Greg Byrne was still here would he eventually relent and listen to alumni, or is this every AD we have had. It is definitely a constant reminder to how things used to get done.

The one positive thing from Polk’s second tenure at MSU. He flat out refused to change the baseball logo & Templeton backed down.

We need to wear white helmet and white jerseys with maroon pants. Just like we wore for the beat down in the season opener back in 2007
