Looks like UNC, Clemson, UVA, and Florida St are in negotiations to join the conference. Thoughts on the Turd Heels coming on board?
It’s called dummy down folks.Looks like UNC, Clemson, UVA, and Florida St are in negotiations to join the conference. Thoughts on the Turd Heels coming on board?
I think we will get to 2 super conferences of 24 to 32 teams each, with 90% of the bowl teams coming from those 2.Hell, why don't we just have two conferences -- 100 teams each. Sheesh.
Smart of you not to link the Twitter account that is spreading this rumor. Otherwise people would make fun of you for being gullible.Looks like UNC, Clemson, UVA, and Florida St are in negotiations to join the conference. Thoughts on the Turd Heels coming on board?
You'll probably have to wait until actual news happens to find that out. This thread is about how one UK fan got suckered in to a bogus report from SwimSwamNews.Where is the U? Figured they would try to sneak into the SEC
Someone needs to get you your binky and blanky....seems little troll boy woke up angry after nap timeSmart of you not to link the Twitter account that is spreading this rumor. Otherwise people would make fun of you for being gullible.
The source is a Twitter feed for SwimSwamNews, a swimming reporter from the the Northeast. He cites "sources" that claim ESPN wants to break the sweetheart deal they have lowballing the ACC, so they can immediately spend hundreds of millions more of their money.
This "news" has already been deleted 3 separate times on the college football reddit bc it is so blatantly BS.
Someone please get UK2KJAG some velcro shoes and a helmet.
Agree. Imagine a home and home with UK and UNC every year. Bluest of the blue bloods would be a big draw every game.UNC to the SEC is only a matter of time. Money talks.
you are spot on, love the college game, they will destroy it like they have destroyed EVERYTHING else they touch sadly and I sadly believe that our programs will be average at best every year with an outlier every once in a while. Hope I am wrong big time. This is gonna be insane. I love college football and basketball, I pray this makes it better somehow. I fear it's headed the opposite direction though. When everything becomes all about money, we the fans suffer.
Oh well we all knew the NCAA was screwed eventually. All we can do is watch it play out and hope it's still enjoyable to follow UK and college sports in general.
I want to go on record and say I'm not thrilled about the two super conferences we are heading towards. The SEC is just gonna be impossible especially in football
Where did you see that? That would be nuts and I would be for those teams if we had to.Looks like UNC, Clemson, UVA, and Florida St are in negotiations to join the conference. Thoughts on the Turd Heels coming on board?
Yeah, but the money is in football. They’re not a football school.UNC to the SEC is only a matter of time. Money talks.
Money is in tv contracts too. UNC has 2 markets that are big enough to be top ten. Plus they have one of the largest alumni bases. Lots of money.Yeah, but the money is in football. They’re not a football school.
National brand, regardless. They sell merch all over the country. I see kids everywhere in Carolina blue.Yeah, but the money is in football. They’re not a football school.
Make argument for either conference.National brand, regardless. They sell merch all over the country. I see kids everywhere in Carolina blue.
And great market. Charlott
Great basketball and decent football.
They bring in the money. In that aspect they fit with the SEC.
Cawood Ledford would be ashamed to see what you consistently post and associate with his name.Someone needs to get you your binky and blanky....seems little troll boy woke up angry after nap time
Sounds scared don't he
And the money from athletics and academics is better in the B1G.UNC to the SEC is only a matter of time. Money talks.
It's a shame when people fall for clickbait.Looks like UNC, Clemson, UVA, and Florida St are in negotiations to join the conference. Thoughts on the Turd Heels coming on board?
Less about academically above the SEC. More about the billions of dollars they have made through academic cooperation and research programs with other ACC schools, and how the B1G can replicate that while the SEC schools can not. Football may drive giant TV revenue paychecks, but Academics still brings in more money.I kind of figured UNC and UVA would go to the Big 10. Both have always struck me as thinking themselves academically above the SEC.
What about Kentucky blue?National brand, regardless. They sell merch all over the country. I see kids everywhere in Carolina blue.
And great market. Charlotte and Raleigh are both top 25 in the US.
Great basketball and decent football.
They bring in the money. In that aspect they fit with the SEC.
The B1G likes it’s research but so does a bunch of SEC schools. The B1G did the smart thing with markets. The SEC went after football brands first. We will see which one is the better model. So far both are happy and very healthy conferences.Less about academically above the SEC. Or Kansas to pad their winsNext report...Duke to the Sunbelt! LOL!
They have about the same size student population as UK. How do they have one of the largest alumni bases? Pretty influential, though. I’ll grant you they have a lot of deep pocket donors.Money is in tv contracts too. UNC has 2 markets that are big enough to be top ten. Plus they have one of the largest alumni bases. Lots of money.
"Bunch" is hyperbole. The SEC will have 3 total AAU schools when Texas officially joins. 3 schools out of 16.The B1G likes it’s research but so does a bunch of SEC schools.
Both are state schools. UNC is part, the primary school, of a 9 school state university system. BUT, probably due in part to it's higher academic standing, UNC brings in more out-of-state students than does UK for a broader alumni base. They have about the same size student population as UK.
