UNC's lack of a point guard would be their message board's main obsession if their fans were halfway as neurotic as some of our fans here - fans who take one element of the offense and beat it with the fervor of a drunken Lifetime Movie husband.

They played at full strength and lost to a team that is rather 5th tier. Pretty par for the course regarding this season's overall talent in college basketball.

Oh damn.. That Iowa ISU game was pretty sick too. I think you may see both as top games of the season. I give the nod to UNC Texas though.. My roommate doesn't know what goaltending is (had to explain it to him when UNc slapped the ball off the backboard), and he was on the edge of his seat..

Possible those two will be the best, but conference play and the NCAA Tournament will have something to say about that.

Its December. Nothing matters this year in basketball until tournament, and probably looking at another 8 v 9 seed championship again. Just down year of super teams but will be a wild ride for ebbs and flows.

This is an extremely down year in college basketball. This will happen quite frequently during the season. Today was unc. Next week it might be someone else. That's why I don't get too stressed about us.

Road loss in December will be forgotten in March if you are playing well. Applies to UNC, UK or anybody else. It's wide open this year.

It's definitely not a bad loss. Texas has some size and talent and now they have a coach.
Winning on the road is tough and as bad as we looked at UCLA I wouldn't be talking too much smack.
Now KU on the other hand….

Yeah but the way Bilas and Vitale and Jay Will all slobbered over them you would think that it would at least take a top 25 team to knock them off.

My point is we are going to be right there again this season.

I get your thought process but nobody is slobbering over UNC. All they said was UNC is the best team in the country right now. That's not slobbering, that's giving their honest opinion and I don't see how it's wrong. Do you think we would have won at Texas today? I don't. Our guys aren't ready for that yet. As bad as we looked at UCLA I don't think we can knock other teams for losing a true road game .

Nah.. I'm just talking about regular season. Tournament games should be their own level.. Everyone goes bonkers for those games.

Shaka Smart was a great choice for UT. Right now, Texas is in a football funk, Smart has a chance to lift some spirits.

Just got home and taped the game. Great to see UNC*** cheaters go down. Give Smart a few years and I think he will have some great teams in Texas.

Ksnsas and Mich st is better then UNC but the reality is all this 3 are better then us right now with the absence of our lottery pic. Did he play today? A toad loss to Texas on a buzzer beater is not that bad of a loss. Its December and we just got our asses handed to us by a average team in UCLA. i bet Texas could beat UCLA IMO.

UNC losing so that's cool
Love it when they lose. They should also lose at least one championship and lots of wins too, but that's a different matter. They do have some weapons, but now have taken two road losses to teams they should have easily beaten. Lots of tools in the box, yes, but they play porous defense right now and make lots of mistakes for a veteran team.

UNC was at full strength with a bunch of junior an seniors - guys projected to be all conference. I think their loss was less understandable than UK's at UCLA, the first real road test for a young UK team nursing injuries to its veteran player (Lee, Ulis) and another vet coming back from an ACL injury.

That and the fact that their defense looked incredibly pedestrian. I mean, how much room does this UNC team have left to grow as a team? Berry, Britt, Paige, Jackson, Johnson, Hicks, and Meeks have all been playing together for 3 to 4 years. What you see at this point is what you get (albeit, they have the talent to beat anyone and win the whole thing, but the margin for improvement is small).

People were definitely slobbering all over UNC. People seemed to gloss over how bad defensively UNC was last year.

UNC returned nearly everyone. We are a team that has four freshmen in the rotation. Apples and oranges.
