The UK responded to this news today. The UK is among a number of countries with military special forces operating inside Ukraine, according to one of dozens of documents leaked online.
It confirms what has been the subject of quiet speculation for over a year.
The leaked files, some marked “top secret”, paint a detailed picture of the war in Ukraine, including sensitive details of Ukraine’s preparations for a spring counter-offensive.
The US government says it is investigating the source of the leak.
According to the document, dated 23 March, the UK has the largest contingent of special forces in Ukraine (50), followed by fellow Nato states Latvia (17), France (15), the US (14) and the Netherlands (1).
The document does not say where the forces are located or what they are doing.
Note to the TGP thought police, this story is being reported on all major outlets.

I made no commentary on the story other than to say its actually occurring.Right, US soldiers at the US embassy in Kyiv. Not, US soldiers at the Bakhmut and Avdiivka fronts.
I get that. Just saying the original headline was painting a disingenuous picture imoI made no commentary on the story other than to say it’s actually occurring.
We honestly do not know though. It would not surprise me if special forces units are running all over western Ukraine.I get that. Just saying the original headline was painting a disingenuous picture imo
It’s possible, but I think that sort of thing is hard to hide. CIA is without a doubt on the ground, if for no other reason but to coordinate getting supplies in.We honestly do not know though. It would not surprise me if special forces units are running all over western Ukraine.

He's in it for the conspiracy theory dopamine rush. Like a lab rat hooked to a pleasure button.Like I said, @TigerGrowls is willfully ignorant. He always has been. He only believes things that are written by a small handful of conservative websites that have zero credibility.
That’s why he’s been spouting stupidity since well before the 2020 election.
Sanctions seemed to have worked.....
You mean the same India with the second largest population and fastest growing economy in the world? That India?Nothing screams success like banking your economic fortunes on selling discounted crude oil to India.
Well that doesn't sound good....
Sanctions seemed to have worked.....
Why is gas currently moving up here in the US then? This is actually not a terrible thing for the global oil market.
1. They're selling it at a massive discount to China/India (~50% cheaper than market rates) which will impact global oil prices.
2. Counters some of the supply issues with OPEC+ planning on cutting 400k bpd to drive oil prices higher.
3. Russia is still absolutely reeling from the sanctions - i think Reuters reported a week ago they're down about ~$30b in Q1 of 2023 so far.
I'm debating writing out a detailed explanation on all the global trends that can explain why "gas is currently moving up in the US", but i really think it's just going to fall on deaf ears. Why is gas currently moving up here in the US then?
Point taken but I was just responding to your previous point.I'm debating writing out a detailed explanation on all the global trends that can explain why "gas is currently moving up in the US", but i really think it's just going to fall on deaf ears.
Instead, I'll just say this: the price of oil is set globally, and a ton of factors go into what drives the price of gasoline up (i noticed you didn't mention the price of diesel, as that has been on a steady decline since November.) Refineries choosing to produce less gas in favor of other products (petrochemical, diesel, kerosene, naphtha, etc), could cause an uptick in gasoline prices. Or maybe, since we're coming up on the spring/summer, O&G companies know it's a time when everyone is traveling, and they realize a price increase during this time is just good business.
There's no way to explain why the price of gasoline rises, while diesel declines, without digging into the weeds. It can be any number of reasons, which I explained previously. Regarding my 3 bullet points in the original post you quoted, it takes longer than 24 hours for the global oil market to adjust to additional volume being released.Point taken but I was just responding to your previous point.
Yes, India with a GDP per capita of $2,200. Real economic power. The result of sanctions, among other things, is that Russia is reduced to being at the mercy of India and China buying its crude at heavy discounts to recoup lost revenue. Add in massive capital flight, brain drain, and an inability to import Western chips. Other than that things are looking great for Russia! You mean the same India with the second largest population and fastest growing economy in the world? That India?
What about China, Brazil, Africa, etc?
And lastly, what about the Ukraine? They never stopped buying gas/oil from Russia.
You're ignoring the fact that in addition to buying their oil/gas, they are now using Yen to globally settle and clear and that's not just oil, that's all global trade. You know why the US can continue to take on more debt right? Because based on the strength of the dollar being the backstop, they know other countries will buy up the debt at cheaper rates (less risk). Once you start to chip away at that, we have a looming issue on our hands.Yes, India with a GDP per capita of $2,200. Real economic power. What about them? They buy cheap oil from Russia? Color me shocked.
Can you elaborate more on Ukraine? My assumption would be that they're buying from a third party.

This is honestly my biggest concern out of this whole debacle. The only thing that gives me pause about freaking out is the fact that something like only 6% of currency trade in the world is done in the yen, whereas 80+% is done in USD. I'm admittedly very green when it comes to the global currency exchange, and based on your previous posts i've read it seems like something you're pretty in tune with, so if you have any good articles on this topic i'd be all ears. You're ignoring the fact that in addition to buying their oil/gas, they are now using Yen to globally settle and clear and that's not just oil, that's all global trade. Lots of data points out there but see below:
If Russia can't take Ukraine after YEARS for fighting, WTH makes you think they could take one yard of territory in NATO Europe? So you think we should just sit back, and let Russia take over Europe? Again, what you suggest is WW2 all over again.
Some of us learned from the lies about weapons of mass destruction. I bought that lie straight up. I was a fool. I don't have all the info on ukraine. But, when neocons and Lindsey Graham are for it I'm very suspicious.I just cannot - for the life of me - understand why the republican right is so anti Ukraine and pro Russia. Is because Russia has claimed that Ukrainian leadership is made up of jewish nazi gay demons?
If Russia wins this war, it is bad for us. They will keep going. And we will have to fight if they attack one of our nato allies, We should all be rooting for Ukraine. At least all true patriots should.
But for people like you, who worship trump over God and country, I guess that is more important. Ukraine got trump in trouble, so we must hate them now.
It's very easy to hide. It’s possible, but I think that sort of thing is hard to hide. CIA is without a doubt on the ground, if for no other reason but to coordinate getting supplies in.
If Ukraine were to take or isolate Crimea, the crap will really hit the fan.
