I know, right? We're gonna need those missiles when we invade Greenland, Panama and Canada. 'Murica!
well a lot of these weapons systems are defensive. For an invasion we need more offensive weaponry. Probably will just need sound machines (things that make noise) for Greenland and Panama. We may have to fix bayonets for Canada.
It's really kind of ironic in our political scene right now. The Democrats (some of them at least) are really hard liners on continuing aid to Ukraine. So we're providing boatloads of weapons. Trump's plan to sell weapons to Europe and have them provide to Ukraine is brilliant. But, normally democrats are on the opposite side of funding for military weapons. Whenever there's a shortage of money (most budget years) first thing Dems want to cut is defense.
This is not meant to mean some republicans aren't equally hardline on funding for Ukraine.
For me the difference is that we are helping a nation who has been attacked by an aggressor. That aggressor has shown willingness to attack and try to spread their nation. I am fine, and feel that it is imperative not to allow Putin to expand Russia and re-establish the Soviet Union.
This war has also badly cost Russia and has caused them to lose power on the international scene. It has also really hurt their military and readiness to attack other countries.
We are getting that at no cost of soldiers on our side.
Dems may like to cut military spending but Dem administrations have not been shy about using the military.

No I didn't. I have smoked in the past in college. I think it's ridiculous that Marijuana is illegal and classified the same as Heroin and Cocaine.
