Duke tipped around noon
Cal tips at 2:00
ISU/IOWA is underway

UK tips at 9:40 if there are no delays.

IU will tip around 7:10 if no delays.

And don't tell me it's about ratings. I'd think Duke would draw a decent size crowd also.

Awesome, more conspiracy theories?

Cal said himself he prefers the night start as that is what they are more used to during the regular season.

But, please, tell me more about these conspiracies.

Played three games with the last ending on Sunday. The committee was just trying to give us additional recovery time

Turner Sports wants as many eyeballs on the tourney as possible from start to finish. They started with Duke (ratings grabber) and will end with UK (ratings grabber).

If they started with UK there would be a thread stating UK was the only 4 seed to play at Noon and how that was somehow against us. I guarantee it

Face it. The ncaa is going to make it as hard on UK as they can.
Yes. It is a vast conspiracy. Everyone connected to the NCAA in any way, shape or form, from the janitor on up to the president himself all stay awake at night trying to come up with more and more ways to screw us. There simply is no justice in this world.

Oh good, the head a-hole chimes in. I bet you have just one big brown in eye in the center of your face.

The time of the game doesn't bother me. The matchups and location are really suspicious however.

IU potentially in the middle of big 10 country is ********.

It's about tv ratings...pure and simple. They are out to make money and UK vs. Stony Brook is a ratings grabber across the country. It is actually a back handed compliment by the NCAA. They can screw us and make money while they do it.

If I was playing, I would much rather play at 9:40. It is more in line with the schedule you've had all year than playing a mid-week game at at noon.

Also, can't agree with anyone who thinks this means they won't be as well rested for a game a full day and a half later.... These are 18-20 year old kids. They'll be fine.

First, I have nothing to do tomorrow but I don't like the time. Too late and less time to recover for Saturday's game.
Secondly, for a couple posters above, it's a CBS national game. Turner, et al have nothing to do with it.

If we win, our next opponent will have 2 extra hours of rest... someone write a letter

It may be a small advantage but an advantage non the less and one that should go to the higher seed.

Putting us prime time isn't about a conspiracy. These are teenagers. They've played late games. This is about the money and who will watch.

If we played at 2 pm EDT, people would be bitching that they were at work and couldn't watch it. Sheesh.

I think this says more about how vast the BBN is, there are a ton of people on the West coast who are UK fans, the 9:40 tip is likely to make sure those markets tune in

How about just switching us with IU? I don't think anyone said we should get to play at 2:00.

I found it funny that we are the higher seed but will be playing with less rest on Saturday than IU or UTC unless we lose of course.
Trust me....2 hours more rest when you have a day off in between is not a big deal at all. We're talking about teenagers here.

I find it hard to blame the timing of the game on the ncaa. Its the tv networks that set the time... Plus everyone knows the tv networks want kentucky to win every game as we bring in the highest rating every year. Ill believe some of the ncaa selection committe might have it out for uk or based on this bracket unc. I noticed one guy on the committe is a duke guy so what better than to put uk in unc bracket.

If it's only about ratings, why is ku playing early? Surely the #1 team could draw big ratings.

Ok...so what time would you have put UK?

Remember Cal said he preferred the time slot they got.

I'd put them in the slot iu got. I don't recall Cal saying he preferred late games. He might prefer it over noon but I bet he'd rather have the 7:30 slot.
