But there were some on this board that said Brooks could not play anything but the 4.
Playing with players who can keep the opponent honest from 3 at the 1 and 2 really opened up chances for Brooks at the 3.

If cal is serious about a title he will land the two most prized recruits in his tenure IQ and Montgomery along with Juzang brooks Allen. It’s a pretty easy sell for those to to come back and lead a team that would catapult their draft stock. If these guys go for late second rd pick or undrwfted then cal imo is not doing his job. That is the worst outcome with these two players who have much more upside to display.
He can advise EJ and IQ to return but that doesn't mean they will listen to him. They have minds of their own plus you never know what their family, friends and possibly ill intentioned creeps who want a handout will tell them. It's not Cal's fault if they choose to make a different decision. If cal is serious about a title he will land the two most prized recruits in his tenure IQ and Montgomery along with Juzang brooks Allen. Me too. My buddy from Grayson is going absolutely bonkers, talking about next year’s roster. I’ve been trying to tell him about it for a couple months. I guess he’s interested now and all in, after this season was basically cancelled.Brooks, Juzang, Allen will be back. I feel there’s a really good chance that EJ will be back. And it’s not impossible that one of Hagans/Quickley come back, though I’m not counting on that. (I think Richards & Maxey are gone)
Even if we’re done, that absolutely leaves enough talent to compete for a final four.
But I think Cal adds a grad transfer (or 2). If he does and/or we get a surprise returnee, I think next year’s team is going to be upper echelon of what Cal’s had here.
Yeah, I’ve always firmly believed Brooks was able to play the 3. He’s a 3/4 hybrid type. He just needed experience and to add some strength. But there were some on this board that said Brooks could not play anything but the 4.
IQ is gone. Brooks will be IQ next year. EJ will be back and be Richards. Juzang will be solid as well. We will hang number 9.
That’s what I’m saying. People also need to realize that IQ isn’t your typical, get to the NBA as fast as possible, type guy. He will go when he’s absolutely ready and when his stock is at its peak. He needs to prove he can play the PG position for that to happen.Just curious where is IQ going? He’s no where on any draft board.
Run that fast paste offense and try to outscore everybody 75 to 70Get Tubby back as an assistant to teach them how to run more.[eyeroll]
:joy::joy::joy: now that is funny. Every year that guy told fans we were going to run more.Get Tubby back as an assistant to teach them how to run more.[eyeroll]
How do you know he would push for them to stay? That's the problem. He can advise EJ and IQ to return but that doesn't mean they will listen to him. They have minds of their own plus you never know what their family, friends and possibly ill intentioned creeps who want a handout will tell them. It's not Cal's fault if they choose to make a different decision.
