I see this as a knee-jerk reaction to not only the loss today, but also the season.

Ty Ty is a nice player, but with Nolan Hickman signed and a potential return from Davion Mintz, this is not the answer for next year.

We need at least two more players—whether it is a guard or wing— who can come in and knockdown shots and would be good for at least 10ppg.

Ideally, I believe we need three more transfers, assuming we also keep Davion and BJ. Of those three, one needs to be a true stretch-four who can step out and consistently hit shots behind the three-line. For this to happen, we would also need Devin and Cam’Ron to transfer—I don’t say this lightly, but I genuinely believe going elsewhere would be best for both of those young men.

Justin Powell is a nice option. I’m intrigued with the rumors over Scottie Pippen Jr. I’m sure more names will continue to circulate as the season ends.

Be patient over the next couple of months. With the one-time transfer rule being introduced for 2021-2022, our best option(s) is the transfer route.

I would assume Trevor Keels will not be an option—we’re too far behind in the recruitment. And there is not another high school recruit who can realistically come in and play at the level we need immediately.

But, without question, this will be the most-important offseason of John Calipari’s tenure here at Kentucky.

Greg McDermott's plantation remarks have cost him one recruit. Let's see if any more decide to jump ship. Yeah, I am assuming that's why he de-committed.

Not sure everything needs to be the answer for next year. I think adding a nice player to the roster is always a good move (especially if we always have open scholarships) even if his impact is not as big his first year. We need to start thinking not just about immediate impact, but what they might bring to the program down the line too. Not saying this kid is the answer, but we need those kids too.

I agree wholeheartedly; but, if done properly and with a little luck, we can be highly competitive once again next year. But, more than likely, it will be a “bridge year.”

But, we have Askew if he returns; Nolan Hickman is signed for 2021; Skye Clark is committed for 2022 and it appears for now he will not reclassify; the program is also in a great position for Jaden Bradley, who is the the #1 PG for 2022.

We have long-term players and are in good position to add others going forward—especially at point guard.

We have a lot of potential for next year; a good crop of freshman; returning experience and talent; the potential for a couple unexpected returnees; bring in two or three transfers that can make an impact immediately and we have a lot to look forward to.

Next season is a critical year; we need to finish as well as we possibly can.

So after 9-16 next season is a bridge year?Sounds like great fun.

More than likely, yes.

When I say “bridge year,” I’m referring to the process of turning over the roster so that we not only have quality talent, but the proper skill and overall roster construction needed to play a more modern style of offense.

We can be extremely competitive next year, but a lot will have to fall in place for that to happen.

Right now, my goal is to simply contend for a top-four seed in the SEC tournament and make the NCAA tournament.

My biggest concern is Cal’s overall philosophy moving forward.

I mean i know it's high school but he makes passes here that no one on the current roster can make. He also has a decent looking shot and plays through contact. He is a bigger guard which Cal typically does well with. Who knows if he is the answer and who knows if he is interested. But UK needs guards...and he's a high level lead guard who can score.

My only problem is Fletcher and Askew are the types of players Tennessee or Villanova would have as juniors or seniors that never had the physical gifts of athleticism (Askew) or height for position (Fletcher) but end up using experience and savvy nature to be pains in the asses for the rest of the country. We always want multi year players but the minute we get them we wanna ship them out for better players. I say keep them and pray the investment pays dividends in the end.

Coach up Brooks to be the stretch 4 with Toppin who ended the seasons final few weeks strong. Convince one of Boston or Clarke to return. Recruit 1 more super star and keep everyone else.

He is a really good player, has had a great last couple months and is going to get that 5th star soon. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him ranked above Hickman when the final rankings come out.
He does look like a good player, but if UK is going to add to the PG spot for next year I would much rather see a high level transfer or go with what they've got. Washington's movement and build reminds me some of Hagans, and he looks like the kind of guy you bring in to develop for the future. But, UK already has that in Hickman; and has freshmen backups for a sophomore Hickman already lined up for 2022. Besides, to my eye anyway, Hickman just looks more skilled and a better PG right now regardless of where they are ranked (and what are the rankings based on anyway? - potential future draft position based on size and athleticism rather than current skill set?).

I say either get Scottie Pippen Jr. or Abmas or someone of that ilk, or role with Mintz, Hickman and Askew at PG; and then add multiple high level transfer 2Gs (e.g., Powell, Barcello from BYU, etc.).

Thought the same thing when I watched. He has better court vision than anyone on the roster this season and I like that the highlights were mostly jump shots. Looks to have some quickness with the handle too

Cal's gonna have to take what he can. There are almost no recruits to go after. Sallis is more than likely gone, and Hardy just quit on his senior season so he is def pro. Kinda sucks, we were early on him.

Sounds like he can play off the ball too from what little I've read about him. I watched another video and it was a pleasant surprise to see him draining jumpers and penetrating and setting up teammates instead of just doing 360s like most of our other guys' mixtapes. Decent size and build as well. Seems like the kind of kid that would absolutely tear us up a couple years from now if he played elsewhere.

I think Cal was so disgusted at our ball-handling this year he's going to load up on guards that can handle pressure. I'd still like to see a veteran guard added but Hickman and this kid would set us up nicely for the season after next and beyond. Sign him up.

Looks good and would think more talent can’t hurt but idk, I feel good about Hickman and Askew. Feel like need more of a 6’6/6’7 alpha wing if we can’t keep Boston or Clarke.

Gotta assume Mintz is gone if this goes thru though. Askew, Hickman, Ty Ty could work. They should all shoot it pretty solid hypothetically and Hickman and Ty def could beat their man off the dribble lot more than Askew and Mintz this year.

Truth. Has size in a PG that cal likes. Looks like he has more build than most HSer’s. Has a nice shot. Passing ability and a good handle. Not sure what’s not to like

I really don’t see him contributing as a freshman. I don’t see elite speed or athleticism which is normally a requirement to be successful for Cal’s point guards.
