Nothing like Dekker . He is Booker or Meeks -esque . So annoying how people make comparisons based on color and not game. He, like Booker , is a kid who is athletic with some bounce ( though I wouldn't call him bouncy as that is Monk or Bam ) who can shoot from all over the floor with a good mid range game but has some skills getting to hole as well. Like Booker is being way underrated as Booker was one of the top 20 players in his class though not many realized . Herro IMO is one of the top 15 players at worst.
Yeah. Booker is the best comparison and if you are going to go white kid for white kid then Jimmer Fredette is the more accurate comparison. Dekker was a really good player but outside of being a good shooter, their games aren't similar. It's a lazy comparison bc skin color and Wisconsin connection

I have watched many of the tapes posted and he looks awesome on offense. My only question is the level of competition. I mean I remember a number of years ago there was a Kentucky kid who averaged over 40 points per game as a Senior High School player and was pretty much nothing in college and was not even sought after by UK. Also, as we know, Cal is all about defense, so hopefully Herro can move his feet and defend. I wish he was on this year's team though, as having a reliable outside shooter would be nice.

Another spoiled fan I see. Hope Cal can live up to your high expectations one day. Hopefully he can sign the next Adam Williams or Sheray Thomas.

Think you misunderstood my post. You said "a while back". Yea... the last time a class like this would've drawn a parade would've been 2008. Cal changed the game starting in 2009. This class doesn't live up to the standard he's created.

I'm not wrong. Look at the numbers. Don't be butthurt. I'm not the one recruiting. Spoiled has nothing to do with it.

I gotta admit, before clicking his b-ball clips, i wanted to be negative about this recruit, but after watching his skillset and ignoring obvious skin color, i do find myself enjoying this kid's game. While it's true the kid probably won't end up top 5 like we are all used to lately, it doesn't mean the kid will be a bust while at Kentucky. The kid has size, shooting and seems to handle the ball pretty well. Most experts seem to say the kid has some hops, which leads me to believe the quickness needed to guard on the floor is also there. I don't know about you guys, but when i see this kid, i keep thinking this is the type of talent that always seems to give Kentucky a lot of trouble. It seems like it has been forever since we actually recruited and signed one of those type of recruits. I am happy this dude decided on Kentucky and i do believe he will be a really talented future Kentucky wildcat. Most will probably decide from skin color the kid can't be for real, but those fans are going to be the most shocked when this kid gets to Kentucky and sees a lot of playing time even during his freshman season.

Says who? You? That's funny. I like the recruits CaL got. I think he is doing just fine. Big win tonight. Big super duper class in durham lost. You're probably upset over that. Now I get it.

I like em the recruits just fine also. Doesn't live up to Cal's standard at UK. Doesn't chaneg anything. You're wrong. Reply again and prove it more. I'm having some fun.

I"m not upset at all Duke lost. Won money on that game. Duke wasn't beating that Virginia team. Duke can't defend and can't score against pressure. No clue in hell what you're referring to but you obviously haven't paid attention to my posting in the last year or so.

I don’t see the Jimmer Freddette comparison, but maybe I am not remembering all of his videos very well. Booker seems like the best comparator I can think of.

Shoot the 3: check
Handles: check
Mid Range: check
Hit the floater: check
Drive: check
Play D: check

This kid can do it all. He is versatile and will help make everyone around him better.
Does anyone have his stats, mainly his shooting percentages for the season?

Just because it doesn’t “live up to his standard” doesn’t mean it’s not still an excellent recruiting class

Well... I know that. Even said so myself. But it's not gonna draw a parade because it doesn't live up to what UK fans have gotten used to since 2009. That was the original point.

We all understand about defense but if you can't score you ain't winning.

lol I was wondering if bringing up that name was ok.

Hate to say it but I had a similar thought. Dekker terrorized us in 15 so it is a compliment, if a yucky feeling one.

Maybe we can go with maybe a slightly less athletic Jeff Sheppard.

Either way it will be fun watching him next year.

While true, that KY kid was never thought of much by the recruiting websites. Whereas they have Herro as a 5*. Also now more than ever before, you get to see all of these kids in the summer vs better/equivalent competition.
