Two of the three he threw last week went a little high. May be rust from not having to throw much so far. He runs pretty well too. Leads team in tackles from safety position on top of that.

Well with a little luck maybe Pisgah and Tuscola will be undefeated going into the Rivalry.
I dunno bear, we'll see. Who knows about Swain and Smoky apparently isn't going to be a cakewalk. You guys got your hands full tonight.

Brevard keeps getting coaches who want to play the spread offense and that's not going to work. If Brevard would go back to smash mouth football I bet they would win more.

What's going on at Owen these days? I read where they only lost 13 seniors to graduation from their 12-1 team, but they look like they can't stop an offense from scoring. Three games, three losses, and each game Owen has allowed 48 or more points. Did losing Jager and Coach Ford cause this much grief for this program?

Only 13? Out of 22 players? Over half?

You do understand that Owen is 2A and many of those guys have to play both sides of the ball? They have a new coach and a new offense.

Please note I stated "13 seniors", not "13 starters". Even if they were all starters, there are other players that come in to relieve the starters. I probably know more about Owen than most from my long lasting relationship with Kenny. Kenny is a heck of a good fellow, and I know he rubs people wrong, but he doesn't mince words that much. Kenny will be the first to tell you that substitutes are just as important as the starters, even for a 2A program such as Owen.

All 13 of those plated most started. Our D is totally different and the kids are adjusting. Our line is very small is the biggest issue.

We should be fine in conference.

I see you beating Avery and Madison, but besides those two games, who else will you beat? I don't see you beating McDowell either. McDowell has some talent on that squad, and their offense is solid.

Do you see Owen being anything better than 4-6? I'm thinking more like 3-7.

If we can get healthy I see 4-6 or 5-5. When I think about it on D we lost Zee Johnston, Chris Mahone, Jager Gardner, Tucker Lowery Austin Bennett, Kyle Pine, Seth Penley, Mason Eades, Tate Brown and Tyler Clapp. On O we lost Taylor Frizzell, Tate Brown, Zee Johnston, Jager Gardner, Tyler Clapp, Seth Penley, Austin Bennett, Sam Drummond, Mason Eades, and Chris Mahone. Those were all senior who started on both sides last year. The only difference is you had Sam Drummond on offense and Kyle Pine on Defense. We returned Justin Wilson, Dexter Andrews, Bryson Fowler and Demarcus Harper who played significant time last year. Outside of that everything and everyone is new.

Of those three games Owen is most likely to beat Polk. Hendersonville did pretty good against North Henderson while McDowell beat Tuscola by a couple of scores. Owen might need Mitchell to wear down McDowell so the Warhorses can win that game. Tough season for you guys.

Injuries are part of the game. Besides Avery and Madison, name the other 2 or 3 teams that you could beat.
Polk and Hendersonville. I don't think either are as good as they have been in the past and both are in the 2nd year of new coaches vs Owens 1st year man. It could be a long rebuilding year for the Warhorses.

You may have just mentioned the most interesting game of the week (not necessarily the best, but certainly interesting) in McDowell vs Mitchell. McDowell seems much improved and Mitchell has steamrolled a less than stellar early season schedule. I guess we find out more about each of them this week.

Well, that was less interesting than I thought. Mitchell 62- McDowell 13.

Mitchell playing well. The Mountain Heritage game, which is a rivalry anyway, may be one to go see.

Yeah, that MH game might be worth the drive. Judging from the results of the rest of the conference, that's going to be the WHC title game.
