Montgomery is not the offensive mastermind that he thinks he is. Without excellent QB play his offense is garbage.

No lots of offenses run on principals, that coaches adjust to exploit their best players advantages. Think about how Gus has done it with running, with passing, and with dual threats.
Our defensive coordinator is another example of this. He will move players around to exploit an advantage we have.

Would’ve been nice if this made it a tie game but no... Montgomery had to go for it on 4th down our own 25 when our offense had been terrible and defense had been playing lights out.

This is troubling and encouraging at the same time. Encouraging that Brin looks good with a quick release and good skills. Troubling that Monty thought Boomer was better.
Gotta admit I agree here. Smith is still QB1, but zero reason to have Boomer #2 when the gap is this large
