As much as I love Cal, there’s some truth to this. The performance and success has dropped off, but then again, it’d be hard to keep it at the level it was the first five years.
I think I read an article that said Wisconsin was statistically the best offensive team ever recorded that year with all the threes and inside scoring with kaminsky the only bad loss I would say we’ve had here recently is definitely Kansas State

I disagree with Indiana, that team was two players deep and just wasn’t that good. Indiana White dude hit those two threes in the corner and that was that.

Since you brought up embarrassing tourney losses...lets talk about Duke and Kansas, the 2 teams you just mentioned.
2003 UK would’ve dismantled last year’s team. And 2017, too. 2005 was better than both, too.

agreed , I'm afraid we are lowering the bar for what we accept . How this year ends is really important . The teams are all average , we are more talented than most . Can Cal get to a FF ?
There is still time for this year. I know people don't want to hear it, but there is. There aren't any great teams in CBB. If we can get hot at right time stuff can change quickly.

A solution would be to change the culture. Stop making it about NBA draft picks ("most important night in UK basketball history!") And start making it about UK.
Stop fielding young teams that are less talented. These kids are playing "me ball". Know why? Because they are trying to get theirs so they can climb up the draft board.
Don’t you know? Cal is God; people literally put up a shrine here. Criticizing Cal with logic and facts is almost as bad as trashing Mohammed in a Mosque. See, you need to use emotion and feeling because logic is too difficult. Cal has not been to a FF since 2015 but don’t tell anyone.
I can concede this. Any other year I’d be convinced we were done. I think this needs to be a wake up call for Cal, but it’s not all on him.
I can’t totally blame him for some of the recruits being complete no shows. Literally ANY other year and their respective recruiting class would make this team great. Seriously, replace this class with any other and it would be one of the better teams here.
We had a damn good returning class of players. Our recruits have just added absolutely nothing.
Cal can't win without those super elite recruits such as Rose and Wall. Recruiting lately has been mediocre. Our past few teams have lacked that superstar talent that Cal's early teams had.

There don't have to be suitable replacements in order to prove the current Coach isn't getting it done. If Cal can get a talented big man for next season, he likely will be able to out-talent the competition, that's been his bread and butter. Otherwise, it appears next year will be more of the same.
That's a lot of what happened tonight. Maxey got his, and then Hagans just HAD to get his, too. I couldn't believe he was posting up and begging for the ball. It was the next possession (or the one after I think) where Hagans got stuffed on a layup.

You’re using a selective few years just to push your little argument to call for Cal’s head. Tubby went to ONE FINAL FOUR in his tenure at UK (the year he won the title). Didn’t reach one after that. Calipari is 31-7 in the tournament in 10 years. What was Tubby’s record in March? Lets talk about what Tubby INHERITED his 1st year vs what Cal was coming into after the Gillispie debacle. He rose us from the dead immediately and made us a relevant contender again.

The first half if Tubby’s tenure wasn’t horrible. He just got lazy and stopped recruiting
03’ and 05’ were two of Tubby’s best teams. And your saying they were equal to Cal’s worst teams. I totally agree
The more eye-opening comparison will be Cal and Joe Hall during their UK tenures. I’ve mentioned this last year. Cal has been treated as God-like and his run at UK as legendary. He’s basically Coach Hall with more swag. And it’s not a knock on Hall who is from my hometown. Good guy and a good coach.
