I have a '20 Colorado that I bought for my son to drive. Got it with 80k, it's at 115K now, no issues with it and no complaints. Had to change the thermostat is the only work outside of brake pads and oil changes. It's a pulled a ski boat back and forth to Minnesota a few times. Honestly, since you said you're tall, I wouldn't get one. It definitely feels cramped.
I know a guy who just bought one. Really lost a lot of respect for that guy.
If you are above 6’2” would not recommend a mid sized.
Then you are probably going to want a Ford F-150 Raptor or the RAM 1500 Tungsten.
Who was using baby seats back then? Two seats in the bed was fine, the baby would ride on mom’s lap and if there were two children the other would ride on dad’s lap.
I’ll let you know if I end up needing to use it. Got a 2022 RAM that I’ve put 50,000 miles on and so far no problems.

I have had my 1500 for a couple years now and love it. I am a little older so I like the chrome, but the bumper colors matching the body are pretty sharp.
Get an older GMT800 truck, pre AFM, from down south and have a solid truck for under 10k that'll outlive current 80k trucks.
