Wrestling TRI-MEET (Minny, Purdue, Rutgers) MATCH THREAD

[Lex Knapp]

Schroder once again gets a cradle off of an Aguilar shot attempt, this time securing the fall.

Purdue goes up 6-0

[MS-RU]

He is absolutely awful. I can't watch him anymore, we need a change immediately...going to be extremely difficult to win this dual now.

[Clearscreen5]

Firestone wins 8-1 in the extra matches.

[Lex Knapp]

Sammy Alvarez now wrestling Jacob Rundell at 133lbs

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez able to score a takedown off an ankle pick to go up 2-0. Period ends with Alvaerz on top.

Second period starting with Alvarez on bottom

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez escapes quickly to make it 3-0. Rutgers needs bonus points here

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez with another takedown, going up 5-0

[MS-RU]

We need 5 or 6 from Sammy and Seabass thanks to Aguilar

[bigmatt718]

Time to bench Aguilar and see what Shawver can do as the starter.

[Lex Knapp]

Second period ends as is. Alvarez holding RT at the moment

Rundell chooses neutral to start the third

[MS-RU]

Need a little more urgency from Sammy..we absolutely need bonus points to have any chance to win the dual.

[Lex Knapp]

Alvarez going to win it 6-0 with the RT point. Rutgers now trails 6-3.

Sebastian Rivera now wrestling No. 19 Parker Filius

[Lex Knapp]

Rivera wastes no time getting a takedown, going up 2-0

[Lex Knapp]

Rivera cuts Filius to make it 2-1

[Clearscreen5]

Benner wins his match 8-6. O'Neill up now. Got 2 screens going.

[Lex Knapp]

Filius hit for his first stall warning

[Lex Knapp]

Rivera gets another takedown off of a Filius scramble. Filius quickly escapes making it 4-2

[Lex Knapp]

Second period ends on the feet.

Rivera starts the second period on bottom, leading 4-2

[Lex Knapp]

Rivera escapes to make it 5-2

[MS-RU]

Big guys just aren't scoring enough to overcome the Aguilar pin unfortunately. We'll need an upset or some guys to over perform to have a chance at this point.

[Lex Knapp]

Rivera unable to get a takedown after a few attempts. He remains on top 5-2

Rivera starting the third period on top

[tfio]

Jesus that was scary seeing him holding his knee

[Lex Knapp]

Filius escapes quickly, making it 5-3

[Lex Knapp]

Rivera able to get another takedown, extending his lead to four

[MS-RU]

Pretty much worse scenario through 3 matches in terms of trajectory to win the dual

[koleszar]

Wow not looking too great here.

[Lex Knapp]

Filius escapes, then gets a takedown closing the deficit to 1. However, time runs out and Rivera manages to hang on to a 7-6 lead.

Rutgers is in trouble here.

MVB now out on the mat at 149-lbs, he is taking on Griffin Parriott, who is making his dual meet debut of 2021

[tfio]

Cmon time to pull out one of these close matches for MVB

[Lex Knapp]

First period ends scoreless.

Van Brill starting the second period on bottom

[Lex Knapp]

Van Brill escapes to make it 1-0. Came close to putting Parriott to his back, but Parriott rolled through and the pair ended back on their feet

[Lex Knapp]

Second period ends on the feet. Van brill holding onto a 1-0 lead.

Parriott starting the third period on bottom

[koleszar]

Come on MacMath get the riding time correct and stop giving Parriot a break.

[SCNJ]

Hate how Parriott is getting to catch his breath right now. Annoying

[MS-RU]

If MVB drops this one, it's extremely unlikely we have a shot at this, again completely thanks to Aguilar who has cost this team a 2nd win in as many matches.

[Lex Knapp]

Van Brill called for a locking hands, then Parriott escapes. Rutgers challenging the locking hands call

[koleszar]

And he gives up the penalty point this is looking horrible.

[bigmatt718]

If MVB drops this one, it's extremely unlikely we have a shot at this, again completely thanks to Aguilar who has cost this team a 2nd win in as many matches.

That's why he needs to be on the bench. Let Shawver get a shot to start.

[SCNJ]

There’s no way that’s a locked hands call. The backs of both his hands were flat across Parriotts chest

[tfio]

If you cant figure it out clearly on slow mo review than why are you calling it in live time

[MS-RU]

Jesus that is such BS call...how can you make that call first of all and I don't think there is enough to overturn. We have the worst luck.
