Because Nebraska is an awesome place to play football and Mickey is one of the best WR coaches in the biz.
even though we haven't won much in the last 6 years, bold statement still rings true.
I read what Joseph said, what is different about what he said compared to every other coach?
Mickey Joseph is apparently the best recruiter Nebraska's had since Callahan and he's been here what, 3 weeks?
Mickey Joseph already earning that paper....if he can coach as well as recruit, we need to lock that guy up and pay him a whole bunch.
Hopefully the Louisiana recruits will stick around longer than the Florida recruits did.
Man no kidding - but I am also guessing having Mickey around (Busch too) goes a long ways towards keeping them engaged and on track.
no clue, but if this kid's half the player our last transfer named Palmer (basketball's James) was, we will all be very pleased
I just think it's silly that we're bagging on kids from Florida like there any different from any other part of the country. I would say them leaving has more to do with frost than it has to do with them being from Florida.
OK. I agree there isn't something about Florida that makes kids leave. But why do you assume Frost was the reason? What do you think Frost did that made them leave? I remember a couple DB's that left before they really started during the COVID quarantine and Flemming left after a few games. CJ Smith left after getting a pretty serious knee injury. Outside of Flemming and his PT frustrations, not sure how you would blame Frost.
I'm just saying it's more likely Frost than it would be for being from Florida. That is all. I'm not saying that Frost is the reason. I'm just saying it's not because of Florida. Like there's something in the water in Florida that just makes them want to commit to Nebraska and then leave.
Personal opinion, I think Frost capitalized on his success at UCF with Florida kids and got a handful to commit. But it was tenuous. They probably weren't that committed to begin with and exited stage left at the first sign of adversity. Lesson learned.
This would be addition by subtraction. Mickey isn’t about playing Fair Catch guys at the skill spot. Play Makers are needed and if Oliver left it’s cause he knows he ain’t got it. He ain’t got what someone like Joesph is use to seeing and demands to see

Martin was a very good WR IMO. I know he was playing with an injury and given his transfer history who knows what might go through his mind. I think he's a good player and hope he sticks around. Who knows, he might just want to take a semester off from school. My daughter has friends at Harvard who will take a "gap" year and basically just go hang out somewhere for a year...you know like at their folks' beach house or place at Martha's Vineyard.

They usually do, seem to stick better in Lincoln. LA isn't FLA, maybe that has something to do with it
One needed to be careful about thinking a WR "quit" on a route in Frost's offense. They ran option routes where the WR had the option based on coverage to pull up in an open spot. That's what happened to Smothers on that interception against Iowa. His WR didn't quit. He just stopped when he found an open spot in the zone for a first down and Smothers didn't see that before he released the ball.
Agreed. Unacceptable. Sounds like coach MJ is the right guy to fix those things.
As for sins of the season though, Martin’s play isn’t that high on my list.
