15 points, 5 boards, 8 assists, 2 steals, 0 TO... that is a great stat sheet if you ask me! Especially the 0 TO.. 6-10 from the field, 3-3 from the line, 0-2 from 3..

He’s exactly what this team needs. But until he does what his brother did in the tournament, he’s not stones. Love him though.

Not being facetious but why? Duke needs him to be stones level. I mean it’s fine if we don’t anoint him with that nickname, but he’s a baller.

And aside from a title, he’s already earning it. His poise is senior level and his offensive game is coming along nicely. He’s significantly a better defender than his bro as well.

I love what Tyus did as much as anyone, but their journeys are different and what Tyus did, shouldn’t be discounting what Tre is doing (not saying that is what you are doing at all btw).

What are the chances Tre stays around for another year? I personally think, he does. Which will only make him better and develop more. Hopefully Tyus will encourage him to stay after even though Tyus was getting paid, he struggled his first couple of years.

Depends on how the year ends. He wins a ship like his brother and puts up good numbers the rest of the year, then he’s probably gone.

Yeah, he is fantastic. REALLY reminds me of his big brother. Just poised, smart, under control... he is my second favorite freshman, and he is challenging for first:)

I think we are seeing both sides of the one and done rule. Zion should be in the NBA after this year, no question he is too big and athletic for this level. Tre should be here for 4 wonderful years but the attraction of the money and being able to focus on basketball 24/7 will cause him to leave. Too bad, at least for us fans and for Duke.

Tre is so good. If he can sure up his FTs (well him and everyone else) he will be that much more important to us at the end of the game. He does everything else well.

I'm fine with passing down the Stones nickname to Tre. He might not always get that clutch bucket, but only because he won't be asked to. However, you can bet he will facilitate it.... And then force a turnover on the next possession.

41 assists and 8 turnovers? Yes, I'll gladly take that! Good things happen when Tre has the ball. Very, very composed. Excellent distributor, good floater, superb defense. Would love to have him for two years, but I'll glad take one year and a natty!

Not so sure there's not a better point guard at this time of the season. He fits like a glove with the other freshmen.
I was wondering how he would do, being the younger brother of a guy loved by the fans, but so far he's been a pleasure to watch.

Through 7 games:

Tyus Jones: 42 assists - 7 TO
Tre Jones (as stated above): 41 assists - 8 TO

I’d say that’s a great start to the season, like big brother had.

Tre is what every recent Duke team has been missing. We have had a ton of talent over the past few years, but individual talent doesn't shine as bright without a glue guy, a facilitator. Tre makes Cam better, he makes Zion better, he makes RJ better. He blends our individual talents together into team talent. His on ball defense has been incredible so far, another missing component from recent teams. And when he needs to step up and make a play himself, he can do that too. Zion is our best player, I argue that Tre is our most important player.

I said something like this in the game thread, but the thing that Tre does that tyus did at Duke is how great he stays composed, nothing rattles this kid! Tre is rarely ever out of control and he lets the game come to him. When he has the ball in his hands it’s almost a sense of relief in knowing that 9 times out of 10 he will make the right play.. his Basketball IQ is high for a freshman and just like Tyus, he is only going to get better!

Just to remind everyone... Tyus DID hit a bit of a freshman brick wall for a while in his year, so if Tre does struggled a little, let's remember that.

Yep. As good as Tyus was, he looked like a freshman at times four years ago.
