heard theres a good chance he might transfer. Raw big man, guy I think would be worth stashing and having Jay Young develop. Not sure if he would have interest or if we would for that matter
In 2019 you can build a very competitive program through transfersi want HS players. Hope Jacob Young changes my mind.
He was a consensus 5* out of high school but has been pretty disappointing at kentuckyI’d def take him . Could step right in and start if he’s eligible ; at worst be a high energy guy off the bench . Think he may have been a McDonald’s all American but could be wrong on that . Thought he was always raw . Maybe he could be at worst a Wally judge type player who was a big time recruit coming out of high school that never reached full potential but turned out to be a productive player for us in his roll
The transfers must be shooters. In 2019 you can build a very competitive program through transfers
5 star transfers to Rutgers remind me of Wally Judge. There’s a reason we get a 5 star and it’s because they are usually a 3 star.

Just playing devil’s advocate, sometimes it’s smart to transfer in order to sit out and get that extra year of practice to get back on track. He will obviously be recruited over at Kentucky. It might be worth trying to find a better fit elsewhereHe's also taking up valuable scholarship space at Kentucky....they lost Quade Green in a transfer to Washington in December and that appears to have freed up more minutes for Mathis' HS teammate Emmanuel Quickley, among others. Sometimes it's not all about what the player wants, but I still think there's something here, because this is the 3rd time his name has come up in transfer rumors and the other 2 places I saw the rumor, wasn't on a RU blog/message board etc....
If he has to sit (doubtful), then he'll probably stick around at Kentucky....if he doesn't, it could be a mutual parting of the ways. He is much more advanced than Wally Judge, but bears watching.
