If all the rumors are true, Darren and Nik are the start but if Duke only loses Foster and Sebastian, it wouldn't be as bad as it could be. Although, if Duke loses those four plus Evans, Pat and Sarr going pro, that would be much worse.
Sarr staying is the more likely option. Caleb transferring rumors are killing me, though. Evans is gone.
Damn this fan base could use some good news.
I need to not worry so much about who's going to be on the team next season. I run an automotive repair shop, and won't ever call Jon for questions. Plus I doubt he cares whether I have tires/parts here or not.
He also makes a lot more money than I do, so I'll just step back and let him figure it out.

Attending Devils Illustrated provides a treasure trove of information regarding basketball roster moves and signings, all for free. It would behoove Jon to consider what we have to offer.
NIL is getting strange. It seems like it makes it harder to keep guys but easier to get new guys. Who will be next? We had a successful season. But the flip side is take Cam Boozer off this team and we'd be fairly average. So Jon may be looking to upgrade like he did Cooper's year.

Latest rumor I heard tonight is that Jon has had meetings with guys, and that he wants team to get a little older. Speculation also is Sarr may be returning. Also heard a big ten school poached Caleb a few months ago with a good offer.
Caleb returning would make us older. Sarr returning would at least make Niks leaving make sense.
Nothing would shock me at this point . I got to ask though. Didn’t Jon recruit all these players leaving ? So either they didn’t pan out like he thought they would or they didn’t trust his style of coaching . I get money voids all this but what exactly is the Duke effect now? Top recruiting classes and ACC tourney trophy’s ?
Is there a dark side to attending Duke? The media/social media has been very cruel towards Duke the last week. Not everyone wants to put up with that.
Right now, we are looking at bringing back Cayden, Dame, and 50/50 on Pat. Wilkins is gone. Caleb is gone. This sucks.

I say the dark side is not being the STAR. Not being the talked about player on the team. Sometimes I think that makes the players not feel wanted like it isn't a team game. I get some instances. I truly thought Harris could provide this team with a good year, but when you get very little opportunity over two years, and that Run and sit in the corner position it isn't what these players want to do. But that goes both ways. If you're game translates you will play. Your total game, defense, production all of that. It also matters who you are up against in the rotation. The Nik transfer I TRULY DONT UNDERSTAND. He is the one that makes you scratch your head. You are a freshman playing 20 minutes a game. You made a mark and a name for yourself. Take year 2 and stand on that, improve and really shine in year 2... but nope. THE DAY AND TIME OF COLLEGIATE SPORTS.

I have a feeling the portal players will be announced first so they have time to look for their next school. So if true and Wilkins is leaving I would assume he will be the next one to announce, possibly today since Duke usually does one announcement per day. Just my thoughts.
Some kids and fans for the matter are so doom and gloom and SOFT. You can't be that way and last very long at Duke University. It's easier to tuck tail and leave and then blame NIL....
If the plan is to win, you make annual adjustments based on new info. The days of bringing in the low 5 star, high 4 star who isn’t good enough to cut in line but cost a ton does it make sense to have that money tied up In role players or redirected to impact?

But that’s not what I’m saying . What I’m saying is Jon recruited these guys , so at one point to him they were worth the money . I’m just hoping he gets impact players for the bench to help out the starters .
This is what I think has been our crutch. We have been way too top heavy with our roster.
He did. I assume you're referring to Nik. Nik was supposed to be a one and done but it was pretty clear he's not that level of player. I'm guessing Nik was already expensive and asked for a raise and a bigger role and perhaps Jon didn't think he was worth it with options in the portal.
probably going to be the same thing with Foster. He wants a big role and likely a nice pay day and Jon may see better options in the portal .
I’d like to have both guys back but if Jon thinks he can do better in the portal then I’m all for it.
I thought they were quite balanced with Flagg, Kon and TP - plus James and a lob threat with KM. Then you had Foster, Pat, Brown and Gillis all off the bench. They just f’d up
I’ll be surprised if he starts. He’s not starting over Cayden. He also isn’t starting over a transfer guard like Blackwell.
I wish I could agree with you. After Flagg and Kon, the others just didn't quite have enough dog in them. I'm talking about the big stage games. Even then, Kon had a 2nd half (took 2 shots I think) that was similar to Evans taking 6 for the game. That's unacceptable, and recipes for games getting closer than they should.
And unfortunately we've seen what happens as the game gets tighter.

And if thats the case and we do start 3 guards we as a team need to run teams ragged... you've got to change up. Offense should speed up. Press more all that comes with it
