I like the unselfish play we've had the last few seasons. Without losing that, we need multiple guys that want the ball in their hands come March. That's what we've been missing.

Harris just had a lot of guys ahead of him in the depth chart for his position. He was the 11th guy his Freshman season and he was the 9th guy this past season.

2024-2025: James/Foster/Proctor/Evans/Knuepple/Flagg

2025-2026:
Foster/Evans/Cayden/Sarr/Khamenia

I liked Harris. He can shoot the 3 well and he hustles. His defense is what needs improvement. Coach Scheyer tried getting him going. The games at Notre Dame/Pitt/ACC Tournament all come to mind.

Best of Luck with the rest of your basketball career Harris!

It’s concerning if Duke cannot retain 2-3 of Foster, Cayden, and Evans to go along with Rippey Jr.

Coach Scheyer usually plays 8-9 guys on a yearly basis since he’s been Leading the Blue Devils.

If I had to choose and it was one or the other- I do think I’d tend to want to keep Cayden. I wouldn’t be disappointed either way but I do think Cayden has a higher ceiling.

I’m not concerned. I think Jon is trying to upgrade. They supposedly have a lot of interest in Blackwell who’s a guard. They need scoring impact and if that’s available mostly via guard then it makes sense for someone like Foster to move on.

Exactly.. he’s upgrading simple as that. And I’d take Cayden over foster if I had to pick

You guys are harder than I am. Cayden stepped up his game while Caleb was out, and we don’t get by St John’s without Foster’s great play in the 2nd half.

And in an era where we call kids soft and not dedicated, Caleb wanted to be on the court, and he probably was too sore to play against UConn, but gave it all he had anyway.

Not only that had Jon played him and Pat in the 2nd half against Houston last year Duke cuts down the nets.

Thank you!!!

Foster Brought the fight once he entered the game against Houston.

Foster should have had Proctor’s minutes in the 2nd half of the game. Tyrese was awful in this game.

Ngongba and Brown should have had Maluach’s and more importantly Gillis’ minutes in the 2nd half. Gillis was a non factor the game against Houston and committed a stupid 2nd half foul against the cougars. Maluach I give a pass to because he was rumored to have his student visa revoked the weekend of the final 4.

Read on DBR that Duke was #3 in NIL spending the past year with 12 million. BYU and Kentucky 2 and 1.
That’s not accurate don’t know where they got that from but last NIL report I read Duke wasn’t even in the top five and our roster was at ten million with Cameron getting 1.5. UNC was even higher than Dukes at 14 million.

  • Top Spender: Indiana ($32M).
  • Other High Spenders: Tennessee ($23.1M), Arizona ($22.6M), Texas ($22.4M), UConn ($21.5M), Arkansas ($21.2M), Michigan State ($21M), Kentucky ($20.7M).

  • people forget that not all schools pay high NIL some of the players do advertising to make NIL money too. Now the Boozers might have been third in NIL earnings . A.J was number one .

I like foster too but all these guys are getting paid and there’s a finite amount of money to go around. Jon’s job is to win and that mostly is going to happen through player acquisition. As everyone has mentioned, some of these guys won’t want to come off the bench. So if you can’t add impact, you must replace what you may have with more impact. That’s just the name of the game now.

this last year Jon just ran it back with players on the roster and freshman and they came up short again.
