No way. Moulton is #1, LJ probably a co number 1 or number 2, depth is always good.If we do get LJ does moulton transfer out?
Wow, have you ever seen him play? Saying he is going to be our second best running back is bold. Williams and NcNeil might have something to say aboit that.No way. Moulton is #1, LJ probably a co number 1 or number 2, depth is always good.
moulton will be a senior next year right? nobody should see a need to transfer because of this new rbIf we do get LJ does moulton transfer out?
correct and if moulton can do a little more high step or juking after breaking past the Lbkrs he could have a lot more big runs. He was just tripped up a number of times this year. His run with 3 cuts that lead to the final TD against Vandy was beautiful. The guy who tackled him had an angle, Moulton had to step out of a tackle and he may have had time to make a 4th cut against that last guy. But we are in good hands with him, and we have 2 experienced backups. This Phillips kid would be great to have. Nothing wrong with 4 running backs as it is a injury prone positionmoulton will be a senior next year right? nobody should see a need to transfer because of this new rb
Moulton is a junior next year. Williams and McNeil are sophs.moulton will be a senior next year right? nobody should see a need to transfer because of this new rb
Not a chance. LJ would probably be RB 3 or 4.If we do get LJ does moulton transfer out?
oh wow...for some reason i was under the impression moulton is a veteran! feels like he's been around a long time. very impressive that he did his damage this past year as sophomore. makes things more crowded than i anticipated with LJ but Lester i'm sure knows what he's doing.Moulton is a junior next year. Williams and McNeil are sophs.
All 6 RBs who had carries this past season suffered injuries and were unavailable, I think for at least two games each. The room needs to be crowded. With Jaz (and Washington) leaving and Moulton the only upperclassman, it's also good to add an experienced back.oh wow...for some reason i was under the impression moulton is a veteran! feels like he's been around a long time. very impressive that he did his damage this past year as sophomore. makes things more crowded than i anticipated with LJ but Lester i'm sure knows what he's doing.
Moulten took advantage and only played in 4 games to secure his RS. With Washington and jaz gone and no rb recruits coming in looking for depth is wise.oh wow...for some reason i was under the impression moulton is a veteran! feels like he's been around a long time. very impressive that he did his damage this past year as sophomore. makes things more crowded than i anticipated with LJ but Lester i'm sure knows what he's doing.
I like X a lot. He’s big but he broke some long runs. I know a lot of reporters comment on McNeils speed but it didn’t really show up on the field this year. Ultimately, I agree with you, this guy could come in and vault right past these two.I'm surprised by the amount of people referring to LJ Phillips as RB3 or 4 here. He had over 2,100 all purpose yards as an underclassmen in the best FCS conference. He is not going to be a RB3. If the coaches are recruiting him as anything less than a co #1 then he simply isn't going to come to Iowa. I'm 100% confident he could get the same amount of money to be the feature back somewhere else.
If he is really good or has potential then I hope he comes aboardLance Ingold, DE from NIU, is planning to visit this week (may have been today).

I am all for using 2-3 running backs each game because they dont all see the holes as well each game or make the right cuts plus it keeps them fresh. A lot of these players are carrying and extra 20 to 40 extra pounds on them than they would maybe more naturally have so they need a breather more often than players from the 1950's lets sayI'm surprised by the amount of people referring to LJ Phillips as RB3 or 4 here. This, pretty comical actually . Guy who absolutely dominated and can be used as a target out of the backfield and used in Goal line situations being deemed by all the talent evaluators as a 3/4 who Iowa will get over a PSU offer by recruiting Him as anything less than the fair chance to win the RB1 job . a AA RB who just put up over 20 TDs and 2100 AP Yards will come to Iowa to be depth , LMAO , sure . I’m surprised that they are looking at another DE. Most of the defensive linemen on the team are DE sized. Are they not working out?Lance Ingold, DE from NIU, is planning to visit this week (may have been today).

Agreed, without looking at film in my comment above I'm thinking he's def in running for RB 1a or 1b if he comes here. As stated, we need depth there like all teams, there's injuries, situational subs, 3rd down backs, goal line, RZ, you name it. It's good to have backs who do diff things vs. diff teams while Moulton is an every down back. McNeil is slipper and has Wadley feet, X has some giddy up and is very powerful, Moulton can do it all yet the HR speed and threat is missing from the backfield. Sign this kid up!This, pretty comical actually . He would be RB2 at the lowest. Lots of carries right out of the gate.I'm surprised by the amount of people referring to LJ Phillips as RB3 or 4 here. He is a RS Frosh who played in 6 games. Had a couple of TFL's and 1.5 sacks. If he is really good or has potential then I hope he comes aboard
Pretty much the definition of message boards, no?Oh the speculation and suspense. A lot of blathering without a clue what will happen. I think I'll just sit back and wait to see.
Damn 6 - 7. Can he catch a football as a big TE?DT Illinois DL transfer Eli Coenen is visiting this week as well.
There's your P4 target, for those who have been fretting about such things.DT Illinois transfer Eli Coenen is visiting this week as well.
By way of Bemedji State. His only offer out of HS.There's your P4 target, for those who have been fretting about such things.
He's all wetJust waiting for the hammer to drop...soaker?![]()
I felt he might be a hard get because of all the offers.Bama just offered Tony Diaz.
Robert Morris transfer S Xavier Styles is visiting today, he has another visit with Pitt on Saturday
Agreed. Maybe we can convince him he'll see a lot of playing time with us vs being a depth piece at Bama.I felt he might be a hard get because of all the offers.
If we somehow get him he's going to be so good I bet.Bama just offered Tony Diaz.
Yep, Moulton starts as #1 in spring and august camps then go from there. The hawks do a lot of real hitting in practice iirc so the coaches can see who the guys are that are breaking tackles. This, pretty comical actually .
