That's a good question. He was already at Iowa a year and re-shirted, so does that mean he has 4 years to play 4 years unless he gets some kind of waiver? I dunno, the rules around that **** get pretty weird and then there are always waivers, so...

I think alot of waivers will be claeared. It has been an unusual offseason.
It still depends on how hard this kid wants to work for playing time.. thats true for anyone at any position.. hard work will pay off..if they dont want to work to get bigger faster or stronger they dont play... in the playbook..in the weightroom...i like the addition i want to hear they are working rhere butts off to see the field

He was a 4 star kid with offer from Ohio St, Oregon, ND, Fl St. Sounded like he went through some mental stuff and decided he didn't want to play football anymore. Iowa gave him a medical scholarship. Taking this apparently means you can never again play for that program. So when he decided he wanted to play Iowa was no longer an option. I think if he is healthy, he has the potential to be the best.Happy to have the kid, but best OL? On a team with Corcoran, Teddy P, Benhart, Piper, etc????
Maybe, but he was pretty good coming out of HS, I think injury has just set him back. I think he has the POTENTIAL to be the best, not saying he will. Of course, most of the lineman have the potential. LOLThat's a reach!

Yup! That sounds like everything I've read. Iowa even went out of their way to help him stay on scholarship by claiming a medical problem when in reality it was a psychiatric problem

But yeah, the downside I guess is, you can't play for Iowa again once you accept the Medical retirement scholarship. In this case, the situation just worked out in our favor if this kid wants to be a big-***, mean lineman again.

I really don't think this is the case at all. Sounds like he was battling depression and decided to give up football. Iowa listed his injury as a back injury so he could claim a medical waiver, retire from football, yet still remain on scholarship with them. The catch apparently is with this type of medical scholarship if you decided you want to play again, you can't play for that school again. So there was really nothing Iowa or he could do. He had no choice but to leave. I think he even put out a tweet explaining nothing but love and respect for Iowa program. Either way yes Im sure for Iowa fans it would be a hard pill to swallow if he has success here.I hope he starts and becomes an All-American, might slow down the dipshit Iowa trolls. I think he may have a grudge.
