You mean Mulcahy who offered Gary Darnell first and was turned down and who fell intro Schiano who always was intrigued by the RU job?

Make me an offer, fool
No interest in paying one red cent to see this crappy program anymore! Gave up my season tickets after 14 years last season. I have found MUCH better things to do with my hard earned cash and free time ! I guess unlike you...…...fool!

1.) We don't have 10 million to buy out Ash's contract.
2.) It is apparent Ash cannot succeed at Rutger's. Recruiting off these performances is a near
impossible task.
3.) Filling seats in our stadium will become harder as the fanbase is frustrated.
4.) We are not shelling out 5 million or more for a proven coach and refer back to point #1.
5.) Hypothetically, even if we had the funds, I am not confident that any decent coach would
choose to come here.
6.) I see only one solution despite it being controversial and we don't know if it is even
feasible. We need to basically trade Ash for Schiano.
We can argue all we want about Schiano's ability to game coach but he can recruit and
fire up the fanbase. He may not find another head coaching opportunity and given the opportunity
just maybe he has the itch to finish the job he started here.
We can hire Schiano at an affordable salary and negotiate with OSU to hire back Ash.
7.) Hobb's is in a tough spot.
The status quo will set us back for years to come.
HOBBS put us in this spot with this asinine EXTENTION to someone with no experience who had proven Nothing In his first 2 years

Rutgers fans need to be honest with themselves, some of you make it sound so easy. It's not all about the money a big part of coaching is an ego trip. There's not a big name coach in the world who would take the job and I don't care what kind of dollars you toss there way. Don't tell me its the media capital of the world I actually think that works against us. Just to much do in the tri-state the Rutgers Sports is an afterthought. We are a very small percentage who actually care.

I never really thought Ash was the guy. I at least figured he would be a bridge between Flood and whoever the guy wound up being. Rebuild our depth, get us of the mat, go 4-8 or 5-7 for a few years. It looks like even that low bar won't be cleared. Next guy has (another) complete rebuild.

When does the Rutgers Football stadium naming rights contract end?
Possible source of funds?
Maybe we need to divert some large donors contributions to the build fund and use it to get a well known coach

Definitely going to lose more than $10M in tickets, merchandise, donations, and damage to the brand over the next few years if Ash stays at the helm.
But you can't sell that to the media and the RU hating, North East Puritian private school elite, over paying for 2nd teir private schools, NJ tax payers.

Bobby Petrino or Mike Leach would have taken this job in a heartbeat when they were looking for work. There isn't a coach in a non-Power 5 conference that wouldn't beg to come here ... Charlie Strong, Lane Kiffin, etc.
