Please dear sweet 8lb baby jesus I hope this is not #fakenews.

^ it's true, brother. times are confirmed, South games are on CBS, West are on TBS. Nevada-Loyola is first, and we are second. Michigan-Texas A&M is first on TBS, then Gonzaga-FSU.

As an aside, to show what a TV draw Kentucky is, the South games were chosen to be on the broadcast network, CBS, kinda makes me laugh that Nevada vs Loyola is on network TV while Michigan vs Texas A&M, a far sexier matchup of power conference schools is on cable TBS directly opposite.

Great. So, yet again, our guys are left to end their game at around Midnight in a tournament. I knew that was going to happen.

I will be there with thousands more UK fans to drunkenly cheer on these kids. This is not a bad thing. College kids can handle being up til midnight, IIRC.

The game ends at Midnight. The interviews end at 12:30-1am. The falling asleep happens about 3am. That's a quick turnaround for a Saturday afternoon game.

Why would they play on Saturday afternoon and not at night? There’s only 2 games to be played at that point, wouldn’t they both be at night?

"they" schedule game times for optimal ratings - so it is way different on Sat vs Thurs.

Agree but come on man. Our game ends 2.5 hours after the opponent's.

I agree - the higher seed should be playing first. They've earned the right to rest more.

Plus, it gives the staff/players a chance to come out and watch their next opponent, which IS an advantage. Why should the lower seeded team get that?

They have access to game film and can scout that way. The players would be sent back to the hotel anyway.

When they claim they don’t do things for ratings, I’d like them to explain why Kansas and Villanova get the earlier/first game? It’s most always been this way. . . .

If we win, we better be the 2nd game on Saturday.
I think that is likely. For whatever it’s worth, yesterday afternoon I called Philips Arena and they said games on both Thursday (2 games, one in the 7 o’clock hour and the other in the 9 o’clock hour) and Saturday start at 7pm, but that doesn’t completely jive with the TV schedule, as the tv schedule shows 6:09pm EST and 8:49pm Saturday game times (one of those in Atlanta, the other in LA, see https://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball-men/bracket-beat/march-madness-dates-tournament-schedule). The info ended up being fairly accurate for Thursday’s game time, but I’m guessing perhaps the doors open at 7pm Saturday? In the past, I have found the arena to be a good source of info as the time gets closer.

So the highest seeded team left in every region is playing first except the south. That is utter BS and I’m not happy at all having to stay up to until midnight to watch the end of our game.

Well at least we are "still playing" so why all the complaining ? It is always us against everyone else. Just get use to it.
