i know the Cats dabbled with this in the past. Now that Auburn is a solid 10 deep and 2 at every position with the addition of JUCO sensation PG J’von McCormick I’m hearing we might give platoons a try. Seemed to work pretty well when we delittled the continent of Europe last summer. What say you guys?

It worked great for our '15 squad, but there also wasn't the level of talent on that team that you guys will have this year.

Our guys were able to sacrifice, I'm not sure Pearl or anyone can get that collection of talent to give up minutes and shots.

I thought this was going to be about Sweaty Bruce's plans to fend off the FBI - deploy a platoon of lawyers to attempt to convince prosecutors that he didn't know about or authorize the activities of his hand picked top recruiter as he was authorizing payments to the mothers of players Bruce himself recruited.

Good point. Our most selfish player got sent packing to St Johns. I think the remaining squad has bought into the sacrifice needed to make a run at a championship. Will he interesting to see how Bruce decides to distribute the mins.

Thought wrong I guess. Thanks for participating.

I think auburn the auburn fools posting on this forum is elevating them to one of the most irritating fan bases in the SEC. Is Bruce paying you and the others? I mean go hang with your fellow fans.

They’re boring and preoccupied with football talk. I like talking SEC hoops with you guys.

So you’re and auburn fan who is genuinely here to talk basketball and you have a pic of brad cal in your avatar??? Give me a break. Go sit outside and sweat the lsd out Bruce.

Before Brad and in one of his other incarnation (denim vest) it was a smug picture of Laettner. Trend?

What’s wrong with Brad Cal? I think it’s a neat pic.

Not familiar with the OP and trying to figure out who he really is a fan of. Sounds like he is here to make Auburn fans look bad and/or just irritate us with silly posts. Also doesn't seem to understand sarcasm when it's directed at him. Or, is he just a very screwed up true Auburn fan? Anyone help on this guy's background?

Just explain the reasoning behind picking that photo, being an Auburn fan. You’re 100% a troll until you prove otherwise (not happening.)
Thought I’d use a Kentucky player on the UK board. I used a Vince Carter pic on the UNC board.

We had NBA players two deep so you can't do it like us.

You know this was all good natured fun until you guys started acting like super sleuths that had figured out some grand secret.

It's June. Chill out. Y'all got on your knees for that boring, two-faced, phony Carolina fan that posted here for a decade but Auburn of all places gets you riled up over some tongue-in-cheek boasting?

Maybe we're here for different reasons. I don't know. Carry on.

Me thinks there is 1 Auburn fan out there with multiple accounts .
You have the HOF Coach, the best coach really in all of D1 ball who runs a clean program, well except when under FBI investigation and when cheating coaches leave... so we should be asking you how to deal with so much talent - not that we will have as much as NCAA Bball powerhouse Aubern or however you spell it. See you at the BBQ this weekend cause I know Bruce is your daddy.

That sounds like a lot of self righteous BS to me. No different from those who you’re alluding to in this post (myself included.) Sounds to me like you’re here for the same reasons you question others to be here for.
Come to a rival board boasting and expect to get hit with some ridicule. Not that big of a deal. All in good fun, for the most part.

I'm here to enjoy myself. The auburn fan is funny and pretty clearly being tongue in cheek.

But instead of a fun thread we have people acting like they discovered that he's an auburn fan or has Brad as his profile picture.

There are enough awful trolls here who deserve to be banned without going after a harmless auburn fan who's having a laugh.

I don't think there's anything self righteous about that.

The decision to use platoons or not has nothing to do with the absolute talent level & everything to do with the relative talent levels between the players on the team (and more specifically between players at the same position.)

If you’re truly two-deep at every position, the talent levels are largely equivalent and the players are willing to sacrifice for the good of the team, then it makes perfect sense to platoon.

Doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about a grade school team or an NBA all-star game.

What made UK’s 2014-15 team so notable was the players were already elite college players. The platoons allowed them to perform at a level higher than they otherwise would have, which meant they were performing at a level rarely (if ever) seen in the history of college basketball.

If you’re a average college team and can platoon that should allow you to perform at a higher level than you otherwise would. Doesn’t mean you’ll be anywhere close to as effective as UK in 2014-15 but still worth the effort.

That’s Denim Vest. I even got a chuckle from some of his first posts but it’s gotten weird. He makes multiple accounts and will even have back and forth conversation with himself. I appreciate good-hearted ribbing but he’s gotten a bit smug. It’s not hard to figure out that he’s a young person who just isn’t as funny as he thinks he is.

I know it's him. I think he wants people to know it's him. I think that's part of the joke.

The joke is getting tired.

It amazing how realistic video games have gotten. An Auburn player was just arrested in NCAA 2018.

It probably would've helped you guys when you got dismantled by Clemson... in basketball. Embarrassing the SEC yet again.
