I'm not defending gold Brooks, but your argument is weak.
- Ado's offensive stats haven't gotten worse, his offense has changed to accommodate the team. He scores fewer points but he also takes fewer shots. Also, his FT% has increased significantly and his ability to make FTs has directly helped us lage in games this season. Thats improvement.
Ado has absolutely added moves to his offense. He puts the ball on the floor from the elbow now. Early I the season it led to like 10 charges I a row, but it has since led to some spin moves close to the basket that result in points at the basket or the line. His turn arpund 7' shots are completely different now too.
- Recent post players with moves- Holman, Perry, Tolu, and Ware.
Those are just post players that are in the Howland era. Brooks has been at MSU well before that and the list could continue.
If he is to be blamed for not turning one specific player into a double digit scorer, should he get credit for the ones that turned into high output scorers?
Any 6’11 body is going to effect shots down low, stop with that remedial excuse.
Ado does so much more than alter shots and he does infinitely more defensively than most 6’ 11” guys out there. He is a special defensive player. One of the best ever in an MSU uniform. His offense is very poor, but to pretend he has no value is silly. His post defense has won us plenty of games.
