No amount of money would bring in someone of his caliber. His reputation is more valuable. This is where coaches come to destroy their career.Forget new facilities....throw $10 million/year at Urban Meyer instead. Would be a much better investment.

Bob Devaney proved that doesn’t have to be true. But Bob was tough as nails. No amount of money would bring in someone of his caliber. His reputation is more valuable. This is where coaches come to destroy their career.

What happened 60 years ago means nothing today. The sad fact is Nebraska was relevant because of TO, the national titles were with him on the sideline, Tom Osborne was a blueblood, Nebraska is Iowa that got lucky to have TO on the sideline as an OC and then head coach.
What happened 60 years ago means everything. Devaney took over a program even deeper in the crapper than this one coming off an entire decade of losing. TO continued that success. We need another Devaney and it sure doesn’t look like his name is Scott Frost. What happened 60 years ago means nothing today. I'd be surprised if Frost makes any changes based on his comments earlier this week about not questioning his assistants. Seems like we got yet another coach who is more interested in giving his buddies a job then having quality assistant coaches.Defensive staff needs a complete overhaul. The offensive system is fine. Need good qb play, need better red zone play calling.

Good point. Too many people believed Scott Frost was the one and only savior for this program. I never believed that. There are coaches out there who turned around worse situations then we are in now. What happened 60 years ago means everything. I'd like to believe it, but I'd be surprised. It was telling how much he cares about giving his buddies jobs when he brought his entire staff with him. I wasn't real crazy about that at the time, but we had to let him do it to get him on board. That's just PR, what do you want him to say there? I expect changes to be made. Chin possibly gets one more year.
Of course, this case of blind loyalty is common. Callahan was obnoxious but what most got him fired was refusing to hire a competent DC.I dont know.. i really think he believes they are the best at what they do... that tells me a lot about Frost
He shoots his hunting partners. I would think that history would get our team to seem a bit more interested.I agree. We should hire Dick Chainey

My post was a reply to the claim NU is a coaching graveyard. Devaney proved even a terrible NU program for many years can be turned around.
What bigger name coach do you attract with your 300 mile recruiting base. That's the real problem people. It's telling that fans of all the other big ten teams are showing up telling us to stick with Frost. They want those easy wins.
Can you please fix the thread title?I will accept any and all resignations
Who cares about a name?! I just want a damn winner & Frost isn’t one. What bigger name coach do you attract with your 300 mile recruiting base. That's the real problem people.
Yeah I didn't buy into the 10-2 and Win the West talk at all, thought 8-4 was possible and 7-5 more likely. And yet the expectations that I thought were modest are being trashed before my eyes.Frost probably has 2 years minimum before the heat becomes an inferno. I was hoping for 6-6 or 7-5 before the season. I just didn't expect the team as a whole to go through so many brainfarts. It's one thing to get out-talented, it's another to lose because of incompetence. I feel we are far close to the latter than the former.
Keep changing coaches every 2 or 3 years ? That leaves your program with no stability and a total wreck.Who cares about a name?! I just want a damn winner & Frost isn’t one.
