Forget new facilities....throw $10 million/year at Urban Meyer instead. Would be a much better investment.

I'm 80 years old and watched 100s of teams. Only one person is responsible for the performance of the team and that is the head coach.

We need a true offensive coordinator who calls plays, a better offensive line coach, If Coach Frost isnt going to pull Martinez then having Coach V isn't doing us any good. Our defensive coordinator can go as well.

Bob Devaney proved that doesn’t have to be true. But Bob was tough as nails.

What happened 60 years ago means nothing today. The sad fact is Nebraska was relevant because of TO, the national titles were with him on the sideline, Tom Osborne was a blueblood, Nebraska is Iowa that got lucky to have TO on the sideline as an OC and then head coach.

Defensive staff needs a complete overhaul. The offensive system is fine. Need good qb play, need better red zone play calling.

I'd rather have 82-year old Tom Osborne coaching the program right now than our current staff.

What happened 60 years ago means everything. Devaney took over a program even deeper in the crapper than this one coming off an entire decade of losing. TO continued that success. We need another Devaney and it sure doesn’t look like his name is Scott Frost.

My post was a reply to the claim NU is a coaching graveyard. Devaney proved even a terrible NU program for many years can be turned around.

I'd be surprised if Frost makes any changes based on his comments earlier this week about not questioning his assistants. Seems like we got yet another coach who is more interested in giving his buddies a job then having quality assistant coaches.

That's just PR, what do you want him to say there? I expect changes to be made. Chin possibly gets one more year.

Good point. Too many people believed Scott Frost was the one and only savior for this program. I never believed that. There are coaches out there who turned around worse situations then we are in now.

that would have got us the win today.

Purdue is reeling. Illinois just blanked them. I’m beginning to wonder if our staff is any good. I’m not seeing it and our offensive system sucks, especially if the team we are playing has a pulse

I'd like to believe it, but I'd be surprised. It was telling how much he cares about giving his buddies jobs when he brought his entire staff with him. I wasn't real crazy about that at the time, but we had to let him do it to get him on board.

Can't keep changing coaches every 2 or 3 years. There's just no stability in the program. Like it or not, NU is in it for the long haul with Frost and his staff.

It's telling that fans of all the other big ten teams are showing up telling us to stick with Frost. They want those easy wins.

Of course, this case of blind loyalty is common. Callahan was obnoxious but what most got him fired was refusing to hire a competent DC.

Frost probably has 2 years minimum before the heat becomes an inferno. I was hoping for 6-6 or 7-5 before the season. I just didn't expect the team as a whole to go through so many brainfarts. It's one thing to get out-talented, it's another to lose because of incompetence. I feel we are far close to the latter than the former.

In an entirely different century, culture and situation. Just the population shifts alone have dramatically changed the landscape of college football, let alone the changes to scholarship counts, coaching staff limits and financial influx. We caught lightning in a bottle and found an edge as a football program, most of those edges have now been leveled through either rules changes or time.

I don’t think they should be fired but at least they should give my 500 bucks back. The crazy first half playing calling cost me. I should never bet on what I think is a sure thing.

What bigger name coach do you attract with your 300 mile recruiting base. That's the real problem people.

I agree with everything said; play calling was horrendous, defense made a couple of stops and then fell apart, special teams were pretty good. I don't understand the play calls when we have first and goal inside of the five yard line and gimmicky plays are called (shovel pass, really?); Mills or Robinson could get three yards on four tries, no need to get cute, and this goes directly to Frost. I have questioned Frost being the best person for this job since he was hired, and all I get are comments that I'm an idiot. His offense only works when it runs a hurry-up tempo, something we do sporadically, and then, for whatever reason, quit doing it. I also get vilified when I say Martinez isn't the best quarterback on our team, but I'm almost certain he was promised the starting job when he was recruited, so don't expect any changes made (in my many years of watching football, I have never seen a quarterback who throws such a horrible screen pass, many times backwards). Not surprised today, not angry today, and contrary to what Moos continues to say, my apathy to where this team is continues to grow.

Yeah I didn't buy into the 10-2 and Win the West talk at all, thought 8-4 was possible and 7-5 more likely. And yet the expectations that I thought were modest are being trashed before my eyes.

Our basketball program attracted Fred Hoiberg, and our basketball program is historically one of the worst in the country.

Kansas landed Les Miles. Washington State got Mike Leach. Both of those schools are in the middle of nowhere.

We have tons of money and resources. No excuses.

I am and always will be a Go Big Red Fan but Scott must make some changes in his coaches and in his own play calling. If it ain't working 100%.
, then change some of the parts.
