Exactly. Living in Indy this was an easy ticket and 2.5 hour drive that I would have made and have made in the past. But as I sat here and watched the game, I said to my wife that this product Cal rolls out is not worth the effort.

It is the prices as everything is going sky high. Everyone is prices them self's out of the market. Price of gas going way high, eating out, hotel rooms. It is easer to stay home and watch on large TV.
Although most of the bowl games were well attended, in so many ways life is becoming more of a virtual world. Business-wise, so many are talking about never returning to an office environment and meetings continuing on zoom and similar platforms. I watched on Youtube previews for movie releases in 2022 and unless you want to see the same Marvel movie over and over and over, there are so many better products coming out on Netflix, Amazon, HBO, etc. So again sitting at home offers the better choice. So that now brings us to Kentucky basketball.
I don't live in Kentucky and still would love to see the games in person. But, if it is expensive to get good seats, you have to go through an ordeal to attend, you have to deal with the nuts that get upset if you wear a mask or if you don't wear a mask, other hassles, then it becomes more challenging to make that decision to attend. Plus, as others have pointed out some of the games against the seemingly High School teams still would be fun to see but at what price? So, it may be hard to compete with the ability to sit at home and watch with no obstacles.

I know people are hung up on Cal making a big pay day, but now it's a reason ticket prices are high? Am I reading this correctly?
Also, tuition has zero to do with college athletics, at least in the grand scheme of things. Tuition has been going up for years, even in schools that are d3 with no football. You can blame higher education and the administrative bloat for that..
