Nothing else. Not covid, not the price, not crappy opponents, not time slots. Just this.
Exactly. Living in Indy this was an easy ticket and 2.5 hour drive that I would have made and have made in the past. But as I sat here and watched the game, I said to my wife that this product Cal rolls out is not worth the effort.

same thing for Vegas. that would have been something that would have been a no brainer but not now

I gave up mine due to the $hitty schedule and poor performances against the cupcakes. Won’t renew until he’s gone. He’s looked down his nose at the fanbase for too long now-it’s time for him to move on.

I didn’t know it was this bad….At this rate, Memorial Coliseum will be plenty-big before long.

“While UK announced average crowds of 18,615 for a homestand against exclusively low-major opponents, that figure is considered a measure of tickets distributed. Actual attendance was far lower.
The average number of tickets actually scanned at Rupp Arena during the homestand was 10,439, according to data obtained by the Courier Journal through an open records request. The Nov. 29 game against Central Michigan saw just 8,962 tickets scanned. The highest attendance came on Nov. 26 against North Florida when 12,429 tickets were scanned.”

It is the prices as everything is going sky high. Everyone is prices them self's out of the market. Price of gas going way high, eating out, hotel rooms. It is easer to stay home and watch on large TV.

Although most of the bowl games were well attended, in so many ways life is becoming more of a virtual world. Business-wise, so many are talking about never returning to an office environment and meetings continuing on zoom and similar platforms. I watched on Youtube previews for movie releases in 2022 and unless you want to see the same Marvel movie over and over and over, there are so many better products coming out on Netflix, Amazon, HBO, etc. So again sitting at home offers the better choice. So that now brings us to Kentucky basketball.

I don't live in Kentucky and still would love to see the games in person. But, if it is expensive to get good seats, you have to go through an ordeal to attend, you have to deal with the nuts that get upset if you wear a mask or if you don't wear a mask, other hassles, then it becomes more challenging to make that decision to attend. Plus, as others have pointed out some of the games against the seemingly High School teams still would be fun to see but at what price? So, it may be hard to compete with the ability to sit at home and watch with no obstacles.

I mean, we'll know over the next few weeks. If the fan turnout is roughly the same for SEC home games, then it's not about the opponent.

Sorry I’m late I got an airhead alert on my phone and came as fast as I could. Looks like another knee jerk reaction we’re gonna need 500mg of valium and a box of whine

Bills in the mail hope you feel better.

But with the new $80 million a year tv contract it would seem tx prices would go down Maybe tuition as well.

Coaches getting raises and bonuses. Lifetime deals. Millions of dollars to coach 13 or 30 games.

Oh wait, I forgot the Athletic Dept is a whole separate business from the University. Just uses the school name

What does a coaches salary.. whether it's $500k or $10mil.. have to do with attendance?

I know people are hung up on Cal making a big pay day, but now it's a reason ticket prices are high? Am I reading this correctly?

Also, tuition has zero to do with college athletics, at least in the grand scheme of things. Tuition has been going up for years, even in schools that are d3 with no football. You can blame higher education and the administrative bloat for that..
