People that die with COVID19 symptoms without getting tested are not tested post-mortem, and don't count toward the statistics.

The point is, until now it would have coded as "complications related to cancer" or something similar if the patient had any other condition such as Influenza or pneumonia, and was too weak and debilitated to fight off the infection. But now everything is Covid 19.If they die from Covid 19 then it should be counted as a virus death. Just like if someone with state 4 cancer dies in a car wreck on the way to treatment that would be an accident fatality. But I don't think they are attributed to virus mortality without a positive test from what I've seen.
My understanding is if you pass away and test positive for Covid, there is a good chance you get classified as a Covid death. Basically if they think Covid was a contributing factor you get put in that category.
If Mississippi’s data matches that of the rest of the country it will be 90% of Covid deaths are 60+ with preexisting conditions. Yes, younger healthier people are still dying from this, but it’s pretty rare.
That is almost certainly part of it, but African Americans are genetically more prone to hypertension and therefore all the other bad things that go with it. I learned that in physiology from the man who literally wrote the book on it back in the day.One statistic that gives pause and needs looking into is that a lot (maybe as many as 70%, from what I've heard) of the deaths are Blacks. And they make up only about 13-14% of the nation's population. Fauci and Birx are on top of that one to try to find the reason and hopefully fix it. I suspect it's tied to economics and education, as well as failure to follow distancing advice.
