La Salle-Peru QB Marion Persich to Morris. Nice get for Morris. Could they challenge Rochester or Montini?

One of the worst kept secrets this off season. Terrific player and kid here big gain for Morris

Just read about it officially this morning, but as Edgy said talk has been going around about him for months. Big kid with 2 years varsity experience under his belt. Not sure what all Morris has coming back, but this is definitely a great boost.

Montini is a different kind of animal, especially with that QB. Some of those CCL teams are very talented.

I don’t think Morris is losing any sleep over Rochester. They’ve got a solid program, but they definitely benefit from being in the south bracket.

Morris shouldn’t be afraid of Rochester but to say they are a “solid program” is a slap in the face. Rochester is an elite public school football program.

It’s not a slap in the face, and I’m not arguing that. I’m just saying it’s a major advantage not having to deal with whatever CCL team (Montini, JCA, etc…) slides into 4A until the state championship game.
I don’t think there’s much of an argument against that. It is what it is — not something they can control.

Could Morris current QB transfer down the road to JCA who apparently in need of a QB.....I have absolutely no idea just tossing it out there

Obviously it's completely possible, but Kennedy is also listed as a WR so it comes down to being able to afford JCA or whether or not he's willing to convert to full time WR. Over the years there have been very few kids from Morris that have gone to JCA for football so I don't see it happening, but never say never.

If Kennedy can swallow his pride and play WR and if the hudl roster is accurate than Morris should be fairly strong.

Kennedy started every game at WR last year and played very well. Earned all-conference honors. No chance he’d transfer out. Especially not to JCA.

I’d argue SHG in 4a south is just as much a force as Montini and JCA. Montini just has an elite QB at the moment and that is the difference.

Leonard’s SHG of old I would agree with. Right now I would say they are a tier below. I watched Morris knock them out of the playoffs a few years back and JCA put a running clock on them recently in the playoffs.
Not knocking them, just my observation. I have heard they will be talented this year so maybe they’re trending up again.

If Montini is “back”, which based on the last few years I’m pretty sure they are, there’s nobody in 4A that will touch them.

I never said it wasn't any sort of advantage but the fact remains they are 9-1 in state title games since what, 2010? Out of those 10 appearances, they have faced STL/Rita/Montini from CCL and went 2-1. I'm going to say they are more than solid.

And it’s my understanding that Rochester expects to have one of their better teams this year. I’ll be very surprised if it’s not Montini vs Rochester again in the 4A finals.

I remember that game... the one where the referees didnt know the difference between a safety and touchdown?

Idk. Byron is awesome, but I’m not sure if they were any better than 2023 and 2024 versions. Montini, on the other hand, has improved quite a bit since 2023.
Just sucks that us fans witnessed two outstanding games between Montini & Byron and then in Considine's SR year Montini gets bumped up and we don't get to see the final chapter.

Oh well.

Based on Byron's championship game, I don't think last year would have been particularly close.

But we did get to see one of the best finals games of all time and right afterwards witness someone finally beat Rochester in a title game… 🤷‍♂️

Naz just got a Three Star QB from Wisconsin transferring in per the QBs Instagram account.
He must have seen a value in a private school education that he couldn’t have gotten in Wisconsin. It’s truly pathetic that schools that claim to value community wh-ore themselves out to win a trophy and disregard everything they say they are about. They will get a trophy but is it really worth it?

While I don't disagree with your sentiment, I believe If you ask any kid on the team if it is worth it, I am pretty sure they will all say YES!!

They may get a trophy and in the moment they'll be excited, but any kid who is being recruited at the D1 level is absolutely not transferring to win a HS trophy. They're doing what they need to do in order to secure the biggest payday they can at the next level. If, in 2026, you think anything otherwise then you're just being naive.

Sad that allegedly after getting benched for a senior the parents decided to pull him when they couldn’t bully the coach. What’s that say for a Qb already on the Naz roster? Kudos to teams like Fenwick (am I becoming a friar guy?!) for doing it right. This transfer culture is brutal. How about parents telling their kid to say and work hard? Maybe I’m too old school.

I mean it's pretty clear he wanted to get into the CCL for more exposure and playing better competition. If a state title comes he will remember it and enjoy the experience but yes, it is all about getting to the next level. And there is nothing wrong with that.

You hear that from your brothers cousin's friend that lives in LaCrosse that knows the janitor at Oak Creek?
