JJ Chapman, not the best kept secret. He has been on Naz 2026-27 hudl roster for a while and listed Naz on his own hudl profile.
Good get for them, I'm pretty sure he wasn't staying in WIS and it was a matter of which school in CCL.
I thought it was kept pretty quiet. Especially since it didn't hit the board until school was out. You Franny people all over the transfer news.

They may get a trophy and in the moment they'll be excited, but any kid who is being recruited at the D1 level is absolutely not transferring to win a HS trophy. They're doing what they need to do in order to secure the biggest payday they can at the next level. If, in 2026, you think anything otherwise then you're just being naive.
I don’t think most parents are making decisions for the “pay day”. They are making decisions, often short sided, that they believe are to put their son in the best position possible to succeed and reach their full potential. If they get NIL money, then great, but “securing the biggest payday” is not the #1 reason for transferring.

In 2026, yes it is. "Putting their son in the best position possible to succeed and reach their full potential" is just the long winded polite way of saying what I said.

As a father, would you and your wife's decision making process for your son's hs football career have "securing the biggest payday at the next level" at the number one priority?

If my sons goal is to play at the highest level and he has the talent to do so; then securing the 'biggest payday" for his future seems reasonable, no? Everyone has a different parenting styles, I would have open and honest conversations and we would all have to be on the same page. I want the best possible life for my kid(s), if he could get money I think that would be benefit him after college. I will not be in this situation but that seems reasonable to me if that if his goal.

This isn't 15 years ago when your benefit was a free education and some under the table money. It is a major part of college football and especially for higher profile athletes and especially QBs. If we didn't think this was going to trickle down to HS we were being ignorant. No one says we have to like it but it is happening.

He's a 3 star D1 recruit and as of now it appears Purdue has the inside track according to On3. If moving to a higher profile HS for his last 2 years leads to an offer from a school like ND that could incentives a school like Purdue to up their offer to get him in the door.

If I were a father and at this point Purdue says they'll give him $500k (just throwing a random number out there) if he commits and since he's only going to be a junior I would have the discussion and advise holding off for now. After his junior year at Naz if he improves and he picks up more B1G offers it could create greater financial offers.

While agree with your basic premise that sadly is no longer the world we live in.

How do you figure Naz is more high-profile program? Oak Creek has turned out a substantial amount of D1 players and off the top of my 3 NFL players in the last 10 years, every college coach knows about the program he left. With the way recruiting is now where you play high school ball at has never been less important.

why does this kid need to go to a higher profile school to get an offer from a better program than Purdue? Notre Dame doesn't just recruit the best programs in the country. Obviously they know there are kids everywhere.

Did Jonas Williams benefit anything from transferring to LWE? Did he get more offers? More NIL money?
