This week, the U.S. Senate is considering the SAVE America Act, an election integrity bill that appears to be one of President Trump’s top legislative priorities for his term. The bill, which would impose a photo identification requirement for voting in federal elections as well as proof of citizenship requirement when registering to vote, passed the House earlier this year.
Opposition from the left has been fierce. Democrats have vowed to filibuster the bill to prevent it from passing the Senate.
One of the chief critiques of the SAVE America Act is that the bill is an unnecessary — and maybe even unconstitutional — federalization of elections; the administration of elections, Democrats argue, is best left to state and local governments. Rep. Pete Aguilar, the head of the House Democratic Caucus, criticized the act for being “a federal takeover of state and local elections.” Shortly after the bill passed the House, the social media arm of the House Democrats echoed his attack.
But those who argue against SAVE America because it allegedly federalizes a state and local responsibility are, at best, being disingenuous. Recent history suggests that it is Democratic members of Congress and those on the political left who have been the most fervent supporters of increased federal control of the administration of elections.
For instance, in 1993, newly inaugurated Democratic President Bill Clinton signed into law the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA). This act, also referred to as the Motor Voter Law, had long been a priority of the left; because of its importance, it was the first bill Clinton signed into law.
HOLY CRAP! Senate Democrats were just asked to pass ONLY the voter ID part of the SAVE America Act......and they BLOCKED it.
Democrats said "we support voter ID, not all the other stuff"
So Sen. Jon Husted filed to do exactly that. THEY JUST WANT FRAUD!
SEN. MIKE LEE: "Chuck Schumer and other Democrats have insisted that they actually support Voter ID—they just object to other parts of the SAVE America Act."
"Well, Sen Jon Husted just asked unanimous consent to pass ONLY the Voter ID portion of the bill. Democrats blocked it."
Sen. Thune, you know the founders didn’t design the Senate to require a supermajority for legislation.
They listed specific cases where it applies, and passing laws isn’t one of them.
The filibuster is a Senate rule.
So, let’s be honest about what this is: a choice to keep a rule that blocks a bill with overwhelming support.

He did something that TERRIFIES the political class more than anything else. He made the core issue simple:
Who decides American elections? Citizens or non-citizens?
That is the fight. Strip away the noise, and that is all that remains.
And Trump is forcing everyone in the Senate to answer it.
Today, he did not hedge. He did not soften. He did not give the usual politician’s answer designed to leave escape routes open.
He said it plainly.
“Now that I did this [Deploying ICE to airports] the Democrats want to make a deal. And I don’t think any deal should be made on this until they approve SAVE America.”
That is not negotiation language. That is LEVERAGE language. And it is driving Washington insane. Why? Because Trump...
This is probably a cya move. Hate these rinos.

And yet—they’re trying to sell it anyway.

If 71% of Dem voters approve of voter ID, why are Dem voters okay with their politicians opposing the SAVE America Act?
Do Dem voters actually believe the nonsense the Dems are spewing about voter suppression? Or are we all just admitting that the Dems cheat in elections?
And if the Dem voters are conceding that the Dems have been cheating in elections, does this change their opinion about how they vote? Or are they just going to keep voting for the people who have been cheating and committed treason against the American People?
Or am I in the wrong for assuming Dem voters even have the capability to think independently?
They want to be able to blame the Senate Parliamentarian for stripping the SAVE Act from reconciliation due to the Byrd Rule. Just like they did with the NFA last year.

Cheating caught on camera, but democrats think that is ok because only a little bit of cheating is ok. They will 180 their loosition once the “little bit” of cheating works against them.
My wife, daughter, and daughter in law were all able to get their names changed. The latter two were able to do it online. Piece of cake.
I don't know how many times I have to repeat this, but under the SAVE ACT, you have to re-register in person.
