Suck. Every game. All the refs.

This season has been crazy. This game has been one of the worst and I realize I am complaining while we are up by 20

I think the game is to fast for these old refs, they need to hire younger refs with better vision.

I agree. I know the Cards were up and up big but that doesn't excuse the poor officiating. It is really bad this year for whatever reason. Maybe it is because they're just too old to keep up, and maybe the new rules have some twisted up some too. I don't know what the issue is but I know it needs to be fixed before it ruins the game.

Louisville built a reputation so officials are going into the games anticipating.

But we grab a lot on the press. We do foul a lot.

Louisville is physical, we simply don't give up a lot of easy baskets.

That said there is clearly a lean against Louisville in these games. Last night's game would have immediately been a blowout if certain calls weren't made. The style in which some of the calls are even made just make you think there really is a bias. And a couple of fouls on FSU were called very late, a sure sign one referee almost felt guilty and had to say, "Wait that's an obvious foul I get reviewed I have to call it even though I don't really want to call it!"

I think it is one of the subtle things that helps our programs for the NCAAs. On that level, there isn't as much bias, if at all. The ACC wants old guard programs to beat the newbies. It's just how it works. NCAAs, not so much.

Just watch, D. Lee will get many more calls in the NCAAs than he's seeing right now. Plays to our advantage when it matters the most. But it definitely cripples our chances of winning this league.

They're messing up Lee's average every game he should be having at least 18-20 a game because of the no calls when he drives the lane!

What gets me and it was very obvious that the refs started calling nit picky fouls in the second half. It's almost like their trying to keep the game close. It's frustrating so much that my brother completely stopped watching college BB several years ago because of the refs.

I will still complain about the refs in our games, but I may hesitate a bit after seeing this. The heck is this.

A lot of new rules for them and pressure to increase offense. What pains me is the carrying of the basketball and the traveling that isn't called. Its definitely changed this year.

The refs do make the game hard to watch. I think it is both ways too. The calls are inconsistent. They miss a clear hold, body blow, or hack then call a foul when literally no contact was made. Players just have to play through those calls.

One area they have gotten better at is the not calling fouls when offensive player creates the contact. The Harrison twins made a living off that play. Nanu does a nice job of walling up or basically jumping straight up with arms straight up. He is big enough which guards tend to bounce off of him. Anas on the other hand loses ground when he is bumped.

I remember the first couple years in the Big East and it was all call fouls on UL, even when the BE was known for their battle type BB. It was our welcome to the big league boys. I see it the same way in the ACC. That's ok. We are deep enough, we can play during our initiation period. We have to win the conference!!!!

Most refs have preconceived thoughts on teams and maybe some prejudices. Plus some aren't talented and should be doing YMCA games instead; and you also have those who are helping someone out. In order to have better refs, there needs to be accountability. Right now you can be bad or really good and it doesn't seem to matter.

Be careful what we wish for. The next thing we will have is instant replay and that will destroy the character of the game.

I have always heard that the refs remind the coaches of the points of emphasis, sort of like ground rules for baseball. Few years ago it was hand checking now it is clear path or no impedance. I'm sure the refs want to let them play but when one team gets away from that, then sometimes the illusion of being fair to both teams comes into play, hence the so called make up call.

One of the things that could help is that refs need to pass a physical. They need to be in shape. With the new shot clock, the game is a little quicker now and makes it harder for the older guys to get in position. It still shouldn't happen with 3 referees.

I also think that coaches should not be allowed to talk to officials. There are too many guys out there, coach K, Izzo, that seem to be able to intimidate refs. Then there are guys like Pitino who start complaining and the calls get worse.

I understand that refs call things different ways in different ways but that's not what I was talking about in the OP. When I posted that there was a ridiculous amount of calls and non calls that happened in a game where we were up big that went against us and not the other team. In games before that there were long stretches of times where is was called tight when we were on defense and loose when we were on offense.

I don't care as much if they call it tight or let them play so long as they are consistent on both sides. That's all I want at this point. Consistent calls. Even if they suck evenly for both teams.

Once it's consistent then I can go back to regular complaining about the refs.
