Louisville built a reputation so officials are going into the games anticipating.
But we grab a lot on the press. We do foul a lot.
Louisville is physical, we simply don't give up a lot of easy baskets.
That said there is clearly a lean against Louisville in these games. Last night's game would have immediately been a blowout if certain calls weren't made. The style in which some of the calls are even made just make you think there really is a bias. And a couple of fouls on FSU were called very late, a sure sign one referee almost felt guilty and had to say, "Wait that's an obvious foul I get reviewed I have to call it even though I don't really want to call it!"
I think it is one of the subtle things that helps our programs for the NCAAs. On that level, there isn't as much bias, if at all. The ACC wants old guard programs to beat the newbies. It's just how it works. NCAAs, not so much.
Just watch, D. Lee will get many more calls in the NCAAs than he's seeing right now. Plays to our advantage when it matters the most. But it definitely cripples our chances of winning this league.
