Just wrapped up...Kansas 71 Notre Dame 61.Jayhawks basically led most of the game by 8-10 points Irish would hang around at times cutting the lead to 4 or 5 but never made a serious push

This was the game I was circling to see if we had a glimmer of hope to at least be competitive with the bottom third of the big ten which is where notre dame would be

While I agree with this since I somehow lived through all of it. I still maintain the difference between Jordan-bad and Littlepage-bad is razor thin. Littlepage is worse but his team’s generally busted it out there. They just almost had zero talent, except for maybe Riggins. Jordan’s teams, much like the coach, often quit.

Good point. I was still pretty young during the Littlepage years. My dad had season tickets 4 rows up from the opponents bench. I remember Riggins scoring like 30 points every night, but RU just kept losing. I started going to games during the Hinson and Battle years and remember those well. I wish we could just become decent and consistent.

Dec 20 and 29 are potential wins. Beyond that. I just can’t say. When I said on this board a few weeks ago this team might not win two big ten games I was laughed at by some and told 5-7 big ten wins was a given. I just can’t see that.

I looked at the Kansas box score and ND's leading scorer and 3rd leading scorer had 35 and 34 minutes of playing time. We can hope those guys have wobbly legs in the 2nd half and that's how we keep this close.

This will be the game we learn the most about this team. Do they show some serious balls and bring the intensity/focus? Or do they play a step slow and struggle to lock in on both sides of the floor. My guess is it’s a little of both with small improvements.

I’ve had this game circled long before CCSU as the barometer for how good/bad this season will be

notre dame is a mid lower level acc team… if we look listless against them then there’s really very little to discuss from a standpoint of potential this season

if they show some fight in a loss or manage to win I think you’ll probably see some including me who try to rationalize a 14-16 win season again that will remind you more of the play hard teams from 2016-2018

It’s either going to be that or a team more like Eddie Jordan’s last year
