JoMo has coached here for 25 games now. A fairly solid sample size. If you look at how his offense performed against each defenses' average for the season (I am not counting Stephen F Austin and Abilene Christian here, so 23 data points)... His offense performed better than average against just 13 of the 23 teams he's faced.
If you take out ULL (twice), LaTech, and USM... He has 19 P5 games. Another solid sample size. The offensive genius has coached his offense to play better than average in just 9 of those 19 games.
Now... keep in mind that he performed above average in the aTm and Auburn games this year, both of which were aided by garbage time.
Furthermore, Kansas State muffed us two punts and gave us extra possessions and we still couldn't do better than average against them.
Also, we gained 318 yards against Ole Miss. They give up 417 on average.
The idea that we should give him a chance at year 3 is just dumb. He's in over his head and his offense will not work here without some major tweaks.
