Good morning folks.

A workman-like win for the Cats, of the kind good teams grind out between bigger games. First place alone in the SEC right now. I knew Stoops was holding this program back the last several years but I didn't expect 7-1 heading in to November in Stein's first year.

I have a fun day ahead. Sine my younger daughter was a very little girl Halloween has been special between us -- so we developed a tradition of driving up into the Blue Ridge Mountains, to all the little towns that really go all out for Halloween and seeing some foliage and having lunch, and going to a "Haunted Bakery" in Shepardstown, WVA (the building was used as an emergency hospital after Antietam and any number of Confderate soldiers died there) and then back to Frederick, Maryland for dinner and a "Ghost Walk" which is also a tour of the historic sites dating back to the early 1700s. Looking forward to getting started.

You folks have a great day.

Hello All,

At church but sitting in the lobby listening to the sermon. The BB is in Sunday school…

This was his meal for supper yesterday…

So edible… (I made a sandwich out of some of this pork belly… just enjoyable…)

Have a blessed day…

Morning D-Legionnaires!

56° with light winds. High today to be in upper 70's

Played a lot of co-ed softball this past weekend with a tournament in Wichita Falls Tx. on Saturday afternoon and 3 games yesterday afternoon for fall league. We went 1-2 Saturday and 3-0 yesterday. Saturday's big problem was a late start for the tourney (2 hour delay) which gave team members time to get a little sauced. Birthday for the short stop so, they were celebrating before the first game (which we lost) and continued afterwards. We won 2nd game but lost third so.... Did not get home until just after midnight. Sore all over today so skipping normal Monday morning workouts. Just some stretching and the monster walk.

Kentucky and the Bengals win capped off the weekend. Apparently Ja-marr Chase fired the Bengals up at half time since Zack Taylor can't seem to get it done.

You folks try to get it going today and be careful out there and God Bless.

Good morning folks. Welcome to the Working Week, I know it don't thrill you I hope it don't kill you.

Very fun day with my daughter yesterday, touring the entire Shenandoah Valley in perfect autumn weather, stopping in little towns along the way to enjoy the Halloween decorations, seeing spectacular scenery in the South Mountain passes, and ending up in Frederick for a nice supper at an Irish Bar that is a favorite of ours, before going on an amusing 'Ghost Walk' with a loal guide. Apparently from the French and Indian and Revolutionary War, through the Civil War, and generations of killing and dying, lots of souls in Frederick are still hanging around.

While we were eating my son texted me to say the Bengals had avalanched the Ravens in the second half, a particular joy for us because he decided to be a Bengals fan as a very young kid and stuck with them while going to school with hoards of Ravens fans. He stood up to a lot of abuse wearing his Andy Dalton and Houshmanzadeh jerseys in Raven land.

Back to work. You all have a great day.

When in DaNang, there was a certain guard tower that overlooked an old French graveyard. There were a few small hills between the tower and the runway. With planes taking off and landing all night, the sounds coming through the hills, sounded like the ghostly music you hear in scary movies. Some people claimed to have seen the ghost of a French soldier hanging upside down from the tower with his throat cut, but I never saw him.

Hello All,

At it, at it... All is okay. I am thankful. Hitting it hard today again in the paperwork department. My Darling and I have bible study this evening. Supposed to be an eat out and study evening. We shall see...

I got a lot done yesterday after a late night and an early rise so things are trending better.

Watching the Cat's has been a reprieve of sorts for me as I missed many games last season in both sports.

Take care, I will check in a few times as I should be sitting at my "cleaner" desk in our "cleaner" office going at it... If the Lord doesn't take me home....

God Bless you all and be safe...

Good morning folks. Got to DC very early today. Lots of work done already. Lots yet to do.

Big meeting this morning at which a couple loud Ravens fans always want to discuss the Sunday game. That'll be fun. I'm going to pull a Trey Hendrickson insult out of left field -- "I thought the Ravens were about defense until they signed that puffed up phony." (For those who don't know, Hendrickson, whose stats always seemed inflated to me, held the Bengals up for a big raise last year, then faked a bunch of mystery injuries to protect himself heading into free agency. Then he signed a huge deal inside the division with Baltimore. The Bengals pretty much shut him down Sunday.)

Hope you all are having a good day.

I like that they shut him down but even more that they shut down Henry. Without Lamar they are definitely not as good but I was worried at the beginning. I'm just going to have to quit watching since they do better when I don't. Also I've been talking to a UL fan at work and he says he has enjoyed watching the Cats this year. Watched more of the games than he ever has. You know Stein has to move mountains when you get other fans to tune in :)
Not much going on other than that. I was laid off for a week last week and trying to get back into the rhythm again, When retirement comes I better be glad because all I do now is whine about it.

Good morning folks. Getting closer to Halloween.

My wife and I rewatched The Exorcist recently. Still a movie that can rattle you. The opening scene in Northern Iraq still sets a very unsettling tone. Living in the DC area, I recognize all the places around Georgetown used in the movie, especially the famous "Exorcist Steps" where a couple people get hurled to their doom by the demon. I first saw the movie in a theatre when I was 16 and my girlfriend was 15. Crazy they were letting people that age into that.

Settling into work. I hope you all have a great day.

Good morning everyone

Great fall weather lately to get out and enjoy. I've been able to get out and hike and did a day trip to West Virginia Monday. Back down to the lake to finish up the remodel and winterize the place next week.

Great time to be a Wildcat fan. We are all alone at the top of the SEC....in football. Wow. Looking down the top 25 saw there are only 3 teams with a better record and only one other sitting at 7-1. It's just an unbelievable season.

BB game tonight (don't forget). We definitely have some question marks so far. My main concern is do we have a true point guard who will get the ball to the open man or even Milan when he's covered. We'll see.

I hope everyone has a good day. Try to get out and enjoy yourself before winter gets here.....soon.

Broke a tooth yesterday. Between crown for that plus in-progress implant work, looking at $4900 payments before insurance which I doubt will cover half. Oh well, I'm alive & feeling OK. Have a good day - week, year, life.
I was overly optimistic. We get $700 as yearly benefits used up. We have had a lot of work earlier in the year.

Found this. Hill 327 aka Freedom Hill, so named as it was the last thing you saw if you left Vietnam through DaNang. It was mostly manned by marines, but we had a bomb dump across the road from the marine dump. Watched Puff The Magic Dragon work out from atop that hill a number of times.

Cats played like the Cats of old in overtime last night. Why can't they do that the rest of the game? Gone are the days when playing for UK was about pride and excitement. Money drives the train now.

Oh, almost missed it... Morning D-Legionnaires!

Low 80's for the high today.

Cutting grass this afternoon, should be last time for this year.

Have a good day and God Bless.

Good morning folks. Not a very encouraging outing for the Cats. It gets real now, and I’m not seeing guards who can dominate anyone or a team with the athleticism and physicality to defend or consistently score in the paint. Ah well.

last day downtown today. I got one of those subway drivers who chatters through the cranked up, scratchy speakers the whole way so you can’t hear a podcast. Shut up dude.

Hope your day is off to a good start.

Morning D-Legionnaires!

65° this morning with very light winds. Temp only to climb 1° for the rest of the day. I like it. Chance of rain today at around 60%. Monster walk coming shortly as the chance of rain according to radar to hit at around 0830.

Normal workout, and house cleaning scheduled for this morning only to finish it off with couch potato time in the afternoon. I love couch potato time.

Nothing else for this Friday so, for those still working, you folks get the day knocked out and enjoy the weekend. Make it so (homage to Patrick Stewart).

God Bless.

Good morning folks. Happy Friday, and happy Halloween Eve. Our long streak of perfect weather continues. A little chilly but I'd take 50s and 60s with clear skies and low humidity in October 365 days a year. Love it.

Hoping to take a drive up into the hills northwest of here before the Trick or Treaters tomorrow. Crazy how fast October has flown by. I'll miss it.

Nothing much else going on. You all have a good one.

Hello All,

Running crazy again today BUT manageable. The BB has a soccer game in a little over an hour. Going to drop off a present to my grand daughter on the way. My Darling and that granddaughter’s Mom (My oldest) ate dinner today. Just worked out that way. My oldest paid too…… Blew my mind…

Anyway, I sent a picture of what I am dropping off to my granddaughter and told her it reminded me of her Mom….

Gotta watch for booby traps on the way over…..

Rise and Shine Gentleman. Though my shine has lost a bit of luster, I'm carrying on because it's what I have to do but it's hard at the moment. The Wife and I are at a season of our lives that we've been dreading for a good while now. Our Parents aren't doing the best right now, particularly my Mom and Dad. Dad's cancer has spread to his bones and my Mom is a mess. I'm blessed I have a strong Family to lean on but this situation is just going to get worse. I'm a one day at a time guy but I can't help but imagining what the future holds. I'm having a hard time coping with it. It's tough seeing my Dad who was this tough as nails guy for the majority of my life just wither away but he's keeping it together better than I expected. That's the Marine in him. I'm passing this info on to anyone I know that's a smoker. I don't know if this applies to any of you but if you do, PLEASE quit as my view of the ramifications ain't pretty. Thank the Lord I quit a good while ago. I don't even keep track of it anymore, but make no mistake about it. I can easily put a whole pack in my mouth and light it up. If you guys are the praying kind I can use a few directed my Family's way.

Stay alert out there guys. We're not supposed to be worldly but I like to know what's going on. Like I tell my Wife, I keep up with the goings on so she doesn't have to. Not that she would anyway but I just have this feeling in my core that things are fixin' to get pretty tough. May not be today or next week or even a month or two down the road but it's coming. When someone tells you who they are believe them. My head has always been on a swivel but the state of the world isn't great right now. I just don't like being caught off guard.

Have a blessed day guys!

Prayers for your family BC Wader. I lost both of my parents in the past two years and it is never easy, however long and well they lived.

Halloween is upon us. Hard to believe that tomorrow is November. Should be some good college football today. I haven't checked out tthe slate of games yet. It's another fabulous fall day in the east. I hope it is a good one for all of you, and not too scary.

Hello All,

BC, God's power and comfort to you and your family. I will keep you in prayer.

I am with the BB in our office. He has been with his Mom several days as she has been off work. I miss that boy though I went to his soccer game yesterday and spent time with him.

This is his iPad day so he is already on with his friends he's known for about five of his seven years playing games just behind me at his desk.

He has a birthday party to go to later this morning but I will be with him most all day until he meets back up with his Mom and friends to hit their neighborhood later this evening for the treats so I am thankful... (He is at it behind me and it brings me joy.) I got him a cup of orange juice and his "Ama" will be cooking shortly....

Enjoy this day and take what you receive and share your blessings....
