A cool, breezy day in the east. Got a morning run in and am easing into the work day.

I can't explain it, but I've gotten pulled into the World Cup. I barely give soccer a thought for four years but this event captures my imagination every time. The drama in that Netherlands - Japan match was off the charts. The Brazil - Morocco match was two entirely different styles on display, and watching Morocco hang with the crazy individual talent, but somewhat undisciplined approach of Brazil was entertaining. And both those games ended in low-scoring ties I'd normally find boring as hell. I just get drawn in by the atmosphere, the fans and the high stakes.

Back to work. Hope you all have a great day.

Week seven of the racing season is in the books......The winds haven't been favorable for my birds not one time this season........I won two premiums but my best finish was 11th.........the flyers on the east side have had a heyday this season....the winds have pushed the birds over there every race......this finishes my season as I am not flying the 500 mile race. The two birds that I had planned on flying were late coming home........they need more than five days training/rest for a race of this length.......I'll save my bullets for another gun fight......it is time for me to start training the babies.....You folks take it easy.......BBK.....don't tear into the retirement thing.........you have all the time in the world now......you have to learn to space your projects out as to look busy all the time!

Morocco doesn't hang with anyone. Finished 4th in last WC. Ranked 7th in FIFA rankings of national teams. US is 17th.

HAHA, I wish brother Pidge (I know I changed your name),

All I am doing now is being nearly dictated to me to finalize a lot of areas I have particpated in for a lot of years. When I retired, I not only retired as a federal civilian, I was a DOD fed that takes some transitions in some areas, I also ran a couple businesses and also partnered in a couple to where I had to "finalize" commitments... Don't EVER think I am complaining as God has been SO good to me... (Also had several medical appointments that caused other medical appointments to ensure what was detected in a few areas.)

Oh, my daughters and grandchildren too.... (Never a burden but busy oh yes...) Again, I am thankful...

Except for some packing we are ready to leave in the morning (If the Lord doesn't take me home.) for Newberry Florida to my son and other grandchildren we have not seen in person for a few years. I cleaned the car better than it has been since it was new.. For My Darling...

We have our one granddaughter here now who kept us from leaving Saturday or Sunday but no issues... Sure wanted to see brother ATXC but will miss him by a few days but I am going to call him once we get in the area in Shawnee TN.... Will stop by the Gap as well and I will share some pics when we return but maybe too during the trip since it is easier to do that now...

To All;

Have a Christ blessed day AND, love someone who isn't expecting it. (YOU deserve it!)

Attended father's family picnic in Highland Heights yesterday. Began with my grandparents and their surviving 5 children's children - my first cousins - in the 1950's. Well, today the elders are the surviving cousins, 12/14. Half made it. I'm in the middle back. Good looking, eh?

Anyway, there were 60-75 of us there. I knew about 20-25 as there were so many grandkids & even great-grandkids of the cousins as well as boyfriends & girlfriends I had no clue who they were. Stormed around 5p which broke the thing up early. Don't know how many more times it will happen.

Good afternoon, D. I was just wondering if any of you have been watching the WW II series with Tom Hanks? I have watched most of it except last week, just couldn’t! It’s very interesting, lot of what happened I never knew about!
