Good Sunday morning everyone.

After a great nights sleep yesterday last night was horrible and I forced myself to wait til 4 AM to get up. Sore from tree cutting and walking up and down the hills here to do it.

I listened to a bit of the Reds game while driving yesterday. Who knows....maybe I'll get back to following them.

The usual Sunday stuff on tap for today except a little odd job work I need to do. I try not to do much work anymore on Sundays.

Have a good one.

Morning D-Legionnaires!

65° this morning with rain dissipating in about 30 minutes or so. Low 80's forecast for the high today.

Got to get the big girl (monster) out before it gets hot otherwise, she'll melt in the heat and humidity.

Both the Reds and the BatCats pulled off wins yesterday/last night and both have the rubber match today. Reds at 11:40 and the BatCats at 14:00. I have an app that allows me to get all of the Reds games but not the Cats. Most of the BatCat games are on ESPN's SECNetwork+. However, today's game is on just the SECNetwork which I have so...

Never had Irish coffee before so I tried a recipe I saw online last night and liked it. Good drink for colder weather though.

Going to get off here shortly for the monster's walk so, you folks enjoy the day and relax a bit.

God Bless.

Good morning folks.

Tough night for dad. He has bladder discomfort and can’t empty it. We will probably need to get him to the hospital for a catheter. He is almost entirely immobile now, and needs nearly constant care. I’m grateful I can come and help my five siblings who all live nearby, give them a break. I’m gonna start coming every two weeks.

I got here in time to watch the Reds game with dad. Like old times. Have a good day.

Still waiting for the rain to stop to get the walk in. Shop is flooded again but not all of the way. Most everything is elevated so...it did not used to flood when we first moved here but I think the underground spring that is/was under the easement area has shifted more under my yard and shop area. Only explanation I have. It just started flooding about 2 to 3 years ago and we have been here close to 12 years now. Looked into digging trenches but most say that we could dig into the spring and bring more water up. In the past, we (me and neighbor behind me) had to use weed eaters to cut that area (still do) when spring rains came because the water bubbles up from the spring and our lawnmowers will not make it through it.

Once summer, fall, and winter hits it is not a problem. Not as much rain and it is fewer between so the spring shrinks, I think. Will still look into solutions to fix and also hoping the ground under the shop does not weaken and the floor collapse.

I will check in and read and absorb good banter between folks and try to learn something

Keep in mind,

Folks here are friends.

Hello all,

Got to sleep in with the BB while My Darling went back to the choir. (She had to miss a couple weeks. If you knew her it is like a mortal sin she committed.)

The BB and I will attend the 11:30 service.

I am thankful. Keep this Lord’s day holy.

Me Supper tonight... I ate it!!! AND am thankful!!!

Bean sprouts and rice along with several other items and sauce, Some beef chunks, and an egg dish My Darling prepares...

Those are extra large brown eggs, green onions, and some shrimp (They are very very small and come as a seasoning but they are raw.) Just enjoyable...

Edible... Did I say I was thankful? Oh too, I didn't eat all of the eggs. I did partake of about 3/4ths of that though. My Darling got "the rest"...

I guess that's in general Sir. I saw some mean one's of that type but I guess that is part of their raising...
Dogs are like people, they can have their own individual personality but I have had six boxers over the years. They are very friendly. I would not have a dog that wasn't. A few years ago, they were trying to breed a new type dog to hunt feral hogs. The breed they came up with was so mean, the handlers were scared of it. They started breeding them with boxers to make them people friendly.

The Poodle and Spaniel I had some not so good meetings with years ago. As I say, probably was their raising.

The monster has the look and color the one on the left above with the fur length of the one on the right. She looks closer to the one on the left with a lot more fur. My wife wants a pure Pyrenees, but I want the Anatolian shepherd type for our next dog whenever the time comes. Both are great dogs with a calm demeanor and gentleness that would surprise you for such big dogs as long as you socialize them. They are both great with kids and very watchful and protective.

Corned beef and cabbage tonight. Just because my wife saw a good deal on corned beef and bought it this week.

The good thing about boxers and the ones I have is looks and size. They can be as friendly (mine are) as can be but the sheer size would keep would be intruders at bay. Now, that is not to say Anatolia (monsters name) would not protect the house and us if it came to it, I have no doubt because they are protective by nature but as long as someone is not aggressive neither is she. Even with other dogs she is friendly unless they are aggressive first and then she goes defensive.

Had that happen only a couple of times with a Jack Russel Terrier and another time a Pit Bull during our daily walks. The Jack Russel attacked her by jumping at her face. She turned her face as the dog jumped and missed and its owner grabbed it before it could do it again. But, about 2 weeks later, it got out and instead of going after her it went after my leg. She immediately went into I am going to eat you mode and I had to hold her back and chased it off.

The pit snuck up behind us once and I did not see it, but she did and spun around going into fight mode and the pit took off.

Yeah, my folks had a Great Pyrnees named Sam. He was a great dog and the strongest I have been around. I was walking with Maddie (80 pound boxer and my favorite) one night. We came around a corner one night and met this guy who was like 6'8 and 350. He stopped in his tracks and Maddie also stopped. She never growled or anything, just looked at him. I said, "Don't worry, she won't bother you." He said, "I won't bother her either."

It is weird on this site. I actually had to click on the pictures to see them but they all came out once I clicked on them. (All three of them but only one shows viewed but I could see all of them.)
That is where she (Anatolia) is right now, on the couch next to me. Had her head on my leg for a while sucking up the ceiling fan air overhead. I am her favorite because I am the only one who walks her so, she hangs around me during this time. She is funny though with her guarding duties. When me and my wife go to bed she sleeps in front of our door (left open so she can see us) but when I get up (always earlier than my wife) she (Anatolia) gets up and moves in front of my daughter's room because she (my daughter) goes to bed later than us and Anatolia knows that I will be up now I guess keeping watch. Sometimes she will move there before I wake up because I will see she is not there and go around the corner to my daughter's bedroom area and she will be there. She knows the other two Pyrenees mixes are sleeping in our room so, it is covered. Never fails, every morning.

She does her heavy sleeping during the day after the walk because it is her nature to be watchful at night.

Good morning folks.

Staying here with dad til noon, then one of my brothers takes over and I’m heading back to Maryland.

From what I gather a passel of talented basketball players converging on Lexington tomorrow. I hope some of them decided to stay, at least Neil next April.

Wishing you all a happy Monday.

Best to your father.

Yeah, different recruiting environment now. Fast-paced and must adapt.

Above this thread as I write, there are SIX separate threads with the name Stokes in its title. I presume he's a guy we're trying to get specifically for hoops because football fans aren't stupid enough to create that many separate threads on ONE player. What nonsense. That's all.

Good morning from ATX. Currently 71°F and cloudy. Highs in 80s for rest of week. Cold front arrives Saturday.

Wife received her new hospital bed yesterday. Really needed to relocate her off the couch for quite a while.

Lots happening this week and next. Y'all take care.

Good morning folks.

Got back to Maryland last night in time to get a good night’s sleep, and now heading into work to catch up.

Austin, my best wishes for your wife.

While I was in Jentucky, my wife’s been in NYC. They had a funeral service for her aunt yesterday, then a small gathering with her son. Bigger celebration of her life a little later I’ll be able to attend.

My son’s coming home for a brief visit tomorrow, then heading out to his new job in Colorado. We’re excited to see him.

Hope for some good news for the Cats on the recruiting front today. You all have a good one.

^ Md, somehow didn't realize your son took the CO job over the AK job. Good deal.
Thanks VH.

Incredibly stupid government bureaucracy ruined the Alaska deal.

He needed a Commercial Drivers License to be hired, which he has. But when the Interior Department HR went over the paperwork with a fine-toothed comb, they decided he needed a CDL ISSUED IN ALASKA not in Texas. That was nonsensical, but it required reissuing the job solicitation and starting over with different wording not specifying where the CDL was issued.

So he moved on to what I think will be a better job, near Durango. I pipelined out there and it is beautiful country -- at least in the late 1970s. So, it ended well.
