Why does it have to be played on a neutral court? It's just dumb. It seems pretty obvious that with Cal's recruiting philosophy of having a very young team each year, he's shied away from having them play such an early season game in such a hostile environment. What's funny to me is, that loss that UK had in their last trip to Bloomington seemed to galvanize that team and those young players and they ended up winning your last NC. Those types of games in hostile arenas are good for a young team, IMHO.
Because your fans are pure trash and scum.

If you need to have it explained to you why it must be a neutral court game then this conversation needs to end. For starters your gym is pathetic and does not benefit us to play in it. Keep in mind we don't trade home and home with Duke either. The games are always neutral. The purpose is to prepare for a tournament. The tournament games are never played in venues like Indiana's.

Second UK has dominated this so called rivalry. We've won 17 of the last 23 and that's giving you guys credit for the losses that occurred under Gillispie. There is no reason to treat you better than we treat Duke. It's neutral sites or nothing.

Also in case you missed the news you guys stampeded the floor during the game. There was a clear and justifiable concern for the security of our players and their families. Several players complained of being harassed while trying to leave the floor. Family members of the players that were in attendance had beer thrown on them and were cussed at. Several fans were knocked to the ground and trampled on. UK, not just Calipari were appalled at the lack of security and should have been.

A better question is why is Creen afraid of neutral site games. He and the rest of the Hoosier fan base need to realize that you don't hold the cards here. We don't have to give in to your demands just to save the series. We play games against Duke UNC and Kansas every year. We don't need this game. It does nothing for us.

How is Trump supposedly "blue collar"? Born with a silver spoon up his *** to an ultra-rich daddy, schooled at the most snobby prep schools and Wharton, never did a day of true labor as an employee in his life, his life's been as far from "blue collar" as one can get.

And, you know, Cal doesn't exactly match the label either. After all, I believe he is the single highest paid person in the entire sport.

Perhaps there might be some elements of truth to your post, but I kinda doubt "blue collar-ness" is the driving force behind the bias.

Because iu refuses anything other than a home/home which will NEVER happen again.

What's ridiculous is the *** behavior of your idiot fans in *** Hall, the inability of the university to control those asswipes
and the fact you haven't won a title since the Reagan administration - toss in 1,000 losses and you're no longer relevant,
we'd much rather play Michigan State or Kansas instead of a has-been who celebrates sweet 16 runs.

It was what your fans did to our players,, and fans,, as the reason we won't play at your place.. Getting our players and fans hurt is NOT good for any team or anyone..

Its obvious that we should've been in a&m's shoes as far as seeding but the committee had other plans for UK. Knowing how the committee chose seeding, we see that it is not worth playing to win your conference tournament. That is overlooked by early season loses to potential nit teams.......

I do admit that UK for the most part, has had a lot of success that other teams wished they had. We should be very proud of this fact.

The committee can not make things fair to every team in the tourney. Im already amazed though that Mich St. got beat by a 15 seed....Thats gotta hurt worse than our loss to IU.........seriously, we should put things in to proper perspective.

I don't buy the conspiracy theory stuff.

I do think betting has a lot to do with it. I do not put it past these refs to bet on games and then subtly manipulate the games as much as they can to try to make some extra cash. I don't think they decide the outcome, but they do influence score. It helps explain part of the inconsistency on calls.

The NCAA selection committee does not make it to where Cal/UK can't win, they only set up possible matchups that look good for television. That is how they manipulate things. They don't want to see UK out early, that hurts ratings. It's all about money.

Here is a novel idea. Cal recruits and his assistants coach. Cal is the greatest recruiter ever. Seems his assistants may have a small edge in coaching. Just a thought. Ready for the backlash

The ncaa doesn't hate uk. They hate one and dones. It goes against everything they make money on. If cal weren't doing this and Kentucky just had the same approach to recruiting as everyone else, then two things would happen. 1, the talent would be dispersed, creating more money for the ncaa. 2, the talent would likely be around longer than a year, again creating more profits.

Instead, calipari thumbs his nose at the ncaa every chance he gets and they, in turn, bend us over in the one area they completely control: tournament seeding. We will never, ever be given a favorable draw as long as cal is coach here.

Are you really trying to say changing lives is less important then titles? If so you are truly a moron . Also we are doing both. Winning a title and going to 4 final 4's in 6 years AND changing lives for generations.

You're being a bit melodramatic. An NBA caliber player is going to go to the NBA no matter what college he attends. We're not taking nobodies and putting them in the pros. We're taking future pros and putting them in the pros.

Cal encourages these kids to leave early even when that's a borderline call. Nobody's going to starve if a kid goes pro after his junior year instead of after his freshman year. And in the meantime we might win another title or two.

Do we really have REAL fans, not you message board idiots that came around a few years ago and realized you like rafters and bandwagoning off of cal. I mean, REAL fans, collect memorabilia, travel to games, go to Rupp, been a fan for decades, alumni, family from Kentucky, etc. REAL GD UK FANS, that don't believe there's bias agaisnt UK and especially calipari? Because the only place I can find you, is on message boards. Never at games, talking with fans in hotels, talking with fans eating in lex after games etc. only HERE.

And what f'ing rock are you living under with that reality, if these fans even exist? Did you hear cal talk about his awful roads at Memphis? Do you see the "racist UK" crap all over the place? Are you getting high when Duke gets the best treatment since mother Teresa?

I'm trying to figure out if we actually have real fans, REAL fans, not message board dips, that really believe the nonsense that everything is fair in this game?

Help me understand?

Yeah, you guys aren't exactly competitive in those games.

Why, because it is well known that Indiana will win both games every year? How can Kentucky HS hoops be so bad? I know our state's population is quite a bit larger, but that can't be the only reason.

By the way, the OP's argument is just sour grapes. Neither team played all that well yesterday, but IU won and the refs and NCAA had absolutely nothing to do with the result.

Of course it has nothing to do with population.

What is 2 million more people?

And a larger percentage of blacks within the larger number.

You know what is funny though?

A larger percentage of Indiana 5 stars come to UK than IU.

How can IU be so bad?

You guys are not really competitive in the recruiting thingy are you?

Good to see you guys are enjoying that 5th win in what 10 years in the tourney?

You guys have sucked *** so long I bet you just couldnt finally to wait and win one vs a real blue blood.

Congrats asshats, and good luck next year after Crean gets another extension but Yogi, Bryant and Williams are gone...

Just watching that, you'll NEVER see UK fans behave that way in Rupp Arena. As someone who goes a lot, I've never whitnessed anything like that. It's why I get pissed when cal tells us to not do "this" or "that" during games. It's like he's so used to Memphis garbage he's gone def to how UK even operates.

Indiana is pure trash. I'm glad they have a dead program.

That is simply an untrue statement.

Cal encouraged Cousins and MKG to go. That is it.

He and the players say the same thing, he offers them data from the league.

Cal has been upset a few times with early entrants, just like he was last year.

Not unlike some others around here you keep spouting things you want to believe instead of the truth, nothing new.

For the record, I believe cal created a, hmmmm, a culture, of sorts. A culture that lends itself to the belief that "can go" means "should go". Now you're right, cal isn't pushing them out the door with a fork lift. However, he's not killing the perception either. He's playing it for recruiting purposes. Cal feels it's beneficial for him. I get that, but it's kind of a two way street, IMO

But cal only told the ones that are absolutely guaranteed to leave, minus maybe Ulis.

The thing that I hate the most is when the NCAA remotely controls the ball like on the 8 missed threes by Murray. THAT pisses me off and it's so obvious. He was stellar in the regular season. Same thing for Willis, but they also used the floor magnets on him to keep him from defending easy layups. I'm on to them and I'm gonna have it looked in to by the right people.

I wouldn't go as far as the OP, but it's clear nothing will be handed to us.

Ditto

I'll go a step further. I think there's some bias in the selection process that makes things harder for certain teams.

Everyone hates UK but us.

A lot of people hate Duke and UNC but those guys are treated much better by the media than us and that effects how everyone else involved in the sport(fans, referees, committee members) perceive those teams.

UNC is in the middle of being investigated over a decades long academic scandal and somehow UK and Cal are still the bad guys.

I really don't think they thought we had a chance in hell of beating Wichita a few years ago. Nor did they think we'd beat UL again.

Now that they've seen IU get the job done I bet they're in our region every year.

No way bro. Just watch when the tripper returns to Duke while having a million dollar guarantee.

As much as I hate it though, I've got mad respect for players that do that. I can't help it. As someone constantly trying to get kids to realize the importance of education, and failing over and over, I see that and just kind of, huh? Lol.

Sadly, No, it really does not. There's more to the collapse of Ky high school basketball in the last two decades than just that, and that doesn't explain just how embarrassingly wide the disparity has become. But that's a discussion for a different day not worth getting into now.

Always?

It was home and home 2007-2012; neutral 1991-2006; mostly home and home with neutral scattered in 1970-1990 and sporadic before that.

IU lost its home and home privileges when you stormed the court in 2012. In the last seven years, Kentucky has had the court stormed after a road loss by South Carolina, Auburn, Ole Miss, Vandy, LSU, Robert Morris and Indiana. One of those schools is historically superior to the rest and should be above rushing the floor over a December game.

That's why the series died. We'll play you in Indy or Louisville anytime, but you're grounded from hosting. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

You can't serve two masters, its either program winning or players first, can they co-exist yes, on occasion, but Cal's model means bringing in the best talent year after year, Every 3 years a super team will evolve that has a 40-50% chance of winning the title. HIs recruiting pitch is unquestionably the best to high talent recruits, he gets players to the NBA better than anybody in the history of the game. Winning titles is a by-product of the process, but not the focus, getting the best talent is, and Cal does that. It is what it is.....No criticism, just truth

I don't think there is any denying it anymore...and to be honest, i don't think the NCAA and powers to be are even trying to hide it...

We don't get the right seed and end up with IU in the second round...mean while K and every other ACC team gets no challenge in the first round and all miraculously end up getting the worst possible seed do to all the upsets?

every major conference suffered at least one unexpected exit...but not the ACC?

The seeding has literally ensured the ACC advancing and most importantly Duke having a cake walk...

While UK had IU...UNC...and in the bottom half Wisconsin or Notre Dame just in case...

Look at our seeding.

Look at the multitude of bogus offensive fouls called against us in the first half. That sent a message that we were not going to be allowed to play our game.

Look at how every single call went IU's way yesterday.

Look back at Enes Kanter.

I could go on and on. But nobody likes walls of text. So here's my conclusion:

The fix is in. Calipari surprised the NCAA in 2012. They won't let him do it again. He is the Donald Trump of college basketball: He's blue collar, he's not one of them, he embarrasses the eggheads in the back rooms with their cigars and monocles and Duke/UNC shotglasses. He does things his way, and he doesn't genuflect before the altar of ESPN and their ilk. And he changed how college basketball teams are built - er - I mean, ruined college basketball, according to the media. Of course, when Coach K copied his strategy and won a title, Coach K was wonderful and creative, wasn't he?

There's plenty of evidence out there. I barely scratched the surface. But yesterday's officiating, which was disgraceful, and our seeding, which was blatantly corrupt, are the latest and most obvious indicators of the NCAA's intentions. Mark it down, folks.

Are you frigging serious? So, the worlds out to get us huh? Where do you people come up with this crap? If you're good enough to win it all, you will. It's as simple as that. You have to win 6 games, not 4 or 5.

Plus Duke now has Oregon as their 1 seed. It was talked about throughout the season how the PAC 12 went out of their way to game the RPI this year and their teams were likely going to be over seeded.

Oregon is the lone PAC12 team left standing after getting 6 in. They were 1 of only 2 teams to make it out of the first round. Zona, Oregon State, Utah and Cal were all beaten but double digit seeds!

I just don't think the selection committee is as clueless as some would like us to believe.

Duke is likely going to beat Oregon IMO, and then get a wore out, emotionally drained Texas A&M or Oklahoma in the E8 because that game is going to be an absolute war.

I'll also be absolutely appalled if UNC wins the whole thing like I think they will. To me they look like the team best built to get it done and that would be a real shame if the NCAA drug their feet just long enough for them to get one more title before they get hit.

I don't necessarily agree with that assertion. Cal has ramped up interest in the college game, even if it's from people who want to see his system fail. In the process, he's made the NCAA a lot of money. I think they understand that.

Cal thinks the current NCAA system is pure horse sheet - with hundreds of millions of dollars going to the NCAA, schools, and coaches, with the kids still being treated like indentured servants and getting nothing in exchange for the wear and tear on their bodies.

I think history will prove Cal to be right as opposed to the Bobby Knights or Rick Pitinos of college basketball who expect these kids to sacrifice themselves to glorify their alma mater and cement their coaches legacy.

Cal will be Kentucky's anti-Rupp in that I think history will remember him as being on the right side of a movement - whereas Rupp has been unfairly on the wrong side of the movememt to integrate college basketball.

I will say it here; Cal will win another title. He has enough motivation to bring another title to Lexington.

Next F4: Phoenix and I expect us to be part of the festivities, unbalanced seeding or not.

If it takes getting the NC going through IU/UNC/UL/The Suns.....we'll get it done.

I don't understand your thinking. If Baylor hadn't lost to a 13 seeded Yale then they would have played Duke. If Michigan State beat #15 seed Middle Tennessee State then they would have played Syracuse. If a 3 seed West Virginia could have beaten #14 seed SFA then they would have gone on to play Notre Dame.

Do you realize that if Indiana had lost to #12 seed Chattanooga (Matt Norlander, Myron Medcalf, Jerry Palm, Brian Hamilton, Nick Kostos were among the so-called experts who predicted Chattanooga would upset Indiana), that's who we would have drawn for the 2nd round? I do agree that Kentucky and Indiana were both underseeded, but all we had to do was take care of business and it would be us playing on Friday, not Indiana.
