There may have been more immoral decisions, but nothing in the context of the day would be as stupid as forcing your universities out of the NCAA without any support from any other states and cutting funding from those universities which are some of the largest employers and revenue generators in the State. Nothing. Seceding from the Union was obviously a bad decision in retrospect but doing so was an attempt to preserve the economic system of the day, so I get the desperation. The things suggested by the OP today in 2020 far exceed the stupidity of anything that's ever been done relative to the day. It's really even too silly to discuss, but here I am anyway for some reason.

If they see themselves losing power or getting voted out, they may just be desperate enough to do this. Anybody that thinks it's a good idea to have someone sneak into a nursing home to get a photo of their opponent's disabled wife may think this is a great idea.
